Default Bandits!

So it seems from my other thread that there is some interest in GJ cranking out more Brasilias. Now I'm curious if anyone has EMB-110's Bandeirantes they'd like to see made. Of course a mould for this doesn't exist yet, so it's a bit of a taller order, but one of my holy grails is a Royale Airlines Bandit. I flew on these several times as a kid from New Orleans to Lafayette and Lake Charles.

This would be a pretty small aircraft even in 1:200 scale - right at 3 inches long.

Definitely, Air New Zealand Link operated these for quite some time in New Zealand, along with Eagle Air, and I think Ansett also operated the airframe. There might not be a big global interest in New Zealand liveries, but I know they would be popular down here and will sell rather well to locals.

Bandits? Yes please. I used to work for a Scottish airline called Air Ecosse based in Aberdeen. Back in ‘81 we used to operate twelve of them, the largest Bandit fleet in Europe at that time. The standard livery is nice, but the all over red Datapost livery was my favourite. Air Shetland was part of the same parent company as Air Ecosse, Fairflight.

Why does the first Air Ecosse have a Welsh Dragon and Flag? Not very Scottish.

The aircraft was previously operated by an outfit called Air Wales which operated from 1977, I seem to remember it wasn’t a long lived company. They used to fly subsidised scheduled flights between Cardiff and Hawarden. The aircraft was then acquired by Air Ecosse and after some considerable time was eventually repainted into the full company livery. Most of the Air Ecosse Bandits we’re flying an average of up to 19 hours a day, they were a very reliable workhorse. Passengers by day and the very lucrative post and newspaper flights by night. They all had quick change interiors, even those without the freight door which some of the fleet had. At one point Air Ecosse was appointed by Embraer as the provider of engineering and maintenance support for European operators of the type which was centred on their state of the art hangarage at Aberdeen Dyce airport.
