Default Qantas Dash 8-300

just got my first Q300 in this scale and I have to say it's just ok. Just the right amount of good vs bad.

main complaints are the engine size, looks like they're from a DHC5 Caribbou, and the height of the landing gear. It's almost like they only looked at photos of the plane in flight because that's how tall the gear are, as if no weight is on them.

highlights, the paint seems well done. Having never seen Qantas is person I'd say the colours are great. Dimensions of the plane seem correct, aside from the height. They've put a lot of markings on this model besides just the titles and logos and windows, which is a happy trend that we've been seeing as of late.

Now comes the hard part... what to make it into. I won't make it Air Canada Express as I fully expect Gemini to release one in the future, won't make it AC Express old colours because that ice blue is very hard to mimic (every model released that I used to have were literally all different shades). Thinking Air Inuit, but I already have a 737-200 of theirs, other choice is Air Creebec but my usual guy wants $65 for decals and IDK if a Q300 is worth the $150 that would be all together.

I think I'll make it Air Inuit. Don't have to remove as many markings as I would for Air Creebec

The DHC5 was the Buffalo. The DHC4 Caribou had radial engines. I think you're right that the engines do look a bit oversized on this model. Overall, I think it looks pretty good though. Good call on Air Inuit. One of my favourite liveries.

The Air Inuit birds have a freighter conversion. It's pretty cool!

thanks for the correction, I don't really know the earlier DHC's off by heart.

I might do the cargo version at some point down the road as it is pretty cool. heartbreaking that it doesn't say 'Cargo' on the side though

Have a number of the Air Nippon/ANK -300s; will have to make comparison when I receive my Gemini one...
