Another good excuse to add a new model to your growing QANTAS fleet.
Very nice.

The race is on ...

Thank you JP.

I love how every single Qantas logo for every period before a livery change is on the aircraft. Now that's how to show 100 years of history!

I know for a fact that Qantas plans to have " Project Sunrise" non stop flight between the East coast of Australia Sydney, Melbounre and Brisbane direct to New York & London very soon. Did Boeing stuff up the decal's TOWARDS 2021 and do TOWARDS 2120? Not unless it says " Looking forward to the next 100 years!

Whilst a pic of the full aircraft would be better, so far this is uninspired, lazy and quite frankly boring design execution.

You are correct that there is no full picture. Pictures were released by the Qantas media team as directed for a reason. You may see some more pictures soon this Friday at JFK on it's world record flight JFK to SYD. While you consider the entire history of Qantas logo's on the aircraft since it's conception in 1920 uninspired, lazy and quite frankly boring, you are completely entitled to your opinion. I will treat all your post with the same contempt.

Inflight200 is superior IMO. Gemini's landing gear ruins the way the model sits, and the engines now have the cowling markings which are usually printed far too prominent for the scale.

Baerke has an excellent 787-9 comparison thread from last year with plenty of photographs. Since I am only interested in either the IF or GC/JC, I looked very carefully at Baerke's photos, then made a post listing the differences that I could find. Hopefully this will be an aid for trying to make a decision. You can read other peoples comments there as well.

Excellent! Thanks mate. It looks as if Inflight get the biccies,.....just. But for someone like me I am guessing both will be satisfactory.

But, Ill score the inflight version from my normal civvie retailer.

Thanks again.

As the flight QF7879 just passed Hawaii just after nearly 10 hours in the air, at Flightradar24 they use for it the reg VG-ZNI which is a plane in the standard livery.

I know I already pre-ordered this with some seller. I don't know which one. I just have way too much pre-orders that I lost track. I have to trust my instinct this time. I don't want to end with 3 (like I did with Amerijet 727) or god forbid 5 of these.

Just because the aircraft doesn’t have a green stripe doesn’t mean it’s boring.
I collect Qantas and I think the livery is a beautiful way to celebrate 100 years of aviation history.

Hey everyone, don't waste your time reading Baerke's review..It just states that both models are about even with Inflight having certain advantages and Gemini having advantages too.

But according to the expert that leads to one being far superior. It must be the box that makes the difference.

Just to mix things up a bit I ordered the KLM 100 just to go with my Qantas 100th Tom, however, for the KLM 100th 787-10, I ordered the Gemini jets copy and looking forward to both of them touching down in old Sydney town soon.

The box of the gemini is better, hands down Btw, KLM 100 787-10, just as Steve , pre ordered from gemini. Both molds are top notch imo.

This livery would look nice of QF's last B747-438ER, if they still have them in service...

I have a feeling we will see this model in 1:200 from Gemini soon. The 1/400 version was just released.

IF200's 787 (and 777 and 747 and A310) are just all off. There is always something about them that do not give off the look and feel of the real aircraft. Lazy short cuts, weird and random decal application, toy like and inaccurate structures. The only model that IF shines is their latest A320.

Hmm QANTAS Time CapsuleTowards 2120 wonder if this aircraft will end it's life in the QANTAS Museum in Longreach at the Qantas Founders Museum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qantas...Outback_Museum

Might be an interesting addition for that Time Capsule, even tho a B747-400ER would be more fitting for that place with that QF B747-238B the VH-EBQ "City of Bunbury"
