WOW! Those are 2 fine looking models rolled out by AC. Definitely going to make some Pan AM and UA collectors very happy. Thank you for sharing the photos! Cheers! T7

Beautiful Connie and DC8. Well done Aeroclassics! AF connie would be nice, but hoping for a KLM white top 749 aswell.

Great idea.
The Speedpack was offered on the last twelve 049s and all subsequent standard Constellations.

I attach a picture of a very old WM, I think it was the only model offered with a Speedpack.

Some years ago New Western Models released this beautiful model.

One comment, the title on the right of the fuselage should have been written in Dutch ...

A re run of all these beautiful models would be welcome.

Jean Pierre having a look ta the old WM L 749 And the landing gears.
So the new mold was much an improvement, but the engines were better before.

What do you think of the Hobby Master L1049G ?

If air planes had a female equivalence, the Connie 749 would be my wife, And Concorde my mistress.
Sorry chaps, but Connie is taken now.
But you can have her big sisters.

Andrew, I think you can't escape this request ...

An L 749 with a Speedpack as suggested by HTF200 would be fine.

I apologize if I am a bit off topic.
It is always interesting to have a talk about the Connie, to seek forgiveness, I can say that I have the AF L 749 and L 1649 released by Andrew.

When Old Western Models released its AF L 1049G with wing-tip tanks, of course, I bought it.

Then came the Hobby Master model with a few things to improve and a few flaws, unfortunately, William refused to listen.
Finally, I bought his model.

I did my best to improve the nose landing gear which was ridiculous, I replaced the front door by something more realistic.
Some lead was put into the nose wheel well to improve the balance, despite this, the model remains a tail sitter.

I also "finished" the model, adding the rear limit of the walk way on the wings with decals.
A detail that William refused to discuss about ... ridiculous ...

The central fin is too short compared to the outer fins, certainly an attempt to save weight and keep the center of gravity of the model ahead of the main landing gear.
Almost unnoticeable but it is true.

In both models the engine cowls were correctly detailed.

I remember that Andrew's models were criticized for their lack of details in this area but the rest of the model is so good that we can forgive this.
You can always add decals ...

The nose landing gear is exceptional ... but fragile, selling some spare parts or adding one more nose gear with each model could be something appreciated.
Just my thought.

I attach some pictures, again, I apologize if my post seems off topic.

Jean Pierre.

Thank you Jean Pierre.
I haven't really opened the HM box And never displayed the Connie.
The box is a hassle to open as all the parts just pop out
When i tried to put the gear on it did not stay And Kept falling so i put it back in the box like all the other Connies i still have.
I had the Hogan 1049 with the wingtips tanks, was not impressed And sold it.
The old WMUK AF 749 had an atrocious nose And skew landing front gear And i sold it too.
Again i must admit that i Will never have the patience nor the skill to re-touch the models And customise them like you have, so îm impressed.
Just spotting the errors (apart from the obvious shape) is Beyond my capacity.

The HM gave one greater opportunities for some snaps with its optional undercart.... and up was far better than down with the ridiculous angle the nosewheel ended up at...

PAA ordered....

Very nice photos Jean Pierre! The Air France Starliner is from Herpa or another brand? First thought was Herpa but the gears are nicer then on the Herpa. .

such amazing models these 1/200s! i remember back in the day i dreamed "one day they will make high quality models of airliners in the matchbox scale". many years down the line we have 1/400 and 1/200. Now i dream " omg imagine these beauties in 1/100 scale glory". Now i believe it will be come reality. just have to wait some time for that to happen but it will happen!

Interesting that Aeroclassics picked N8082U to produce. That aircraft crashed on approach to PDX back in 1978 due to fuel exhaustion killing 2 crew members and 8 passengers.

Thank you Jean Pierre, looks like this is an amazing model of the starliner. I have four Herpa Starliners (AF, TWA and 2x LH) , very nice models but the gears are not so good.
