Another B 727 in my Air France fleet

7 Attachment(s)
I bought two JC Wings AF B 727, one to keep "as is" and the other one as a donor to receive the ACI livery.

The latter was delivered to AF but operated by air charter international during the eighties and early nineties, in those days, ACI was the charter arm of AF.
The AF livery was easily removed with non acetone nail polish remover.
The cockpit windows, front doors and rear service doors were kept to help the positioning of the passenger windows.
Decals are from Nick Webb (UK).
The wing escape walkways and APU exhaust on the right wing were missing and the decals I received were incorrect, these details were added with home made decals.

I attach pictures of my other B 727s, Hogan, Jet X and JC Wings.
The Hogan with a blue tail is a custom.

The many details printed on the JC Wings model are very nice and ACCURATE.

The F-GCMV was with the MX the last two B 727s received by AF in 1981, compared to the first aircraft received in 1968, the MTOW was significantly higher.

I have very fond memories of the time I spent on B 727, and I am very pleased to add this model to my collection.
It was a very capable aircraft but it could not compete with the A 320 and the stretched versions of the B 737s equipped with CFM 56.

To give just one example : between Paris and Amsterdam the trip fuel of a B 727 was three tons, flying an A 320, it was as low as two tons.

Jean Pierre.

Very well executed! Thanks for posting the pictures. I have always liked the look of the ACI. The reverse original colors compliments her sister well!

Very nice. I like the way the tail engine becomes more pronounced with this livery.

That is a beautiful executed modification to the livery. Compliments! I've always considered the B727 as one of the most beautiful jetliners, due to its tail and three engine configuration. And how swift she was. Far too thirsty for 2019, but still unmatched fast!

cheers, VJ
