Those look super cool so JC Wings managed to release that QANTAS Australia Yam Dreaming B787-938 Dreamliner after all that time?
That China Airlines A350-941 also has a striking art on it , both look cool and Australian Aboriginal & Chinese Modern Art combined, very cool

Nice catch on both btw

Hi Martin,
No I haven't tried to take it off. Reason being, it might have one of these next year or two. The wheels up option is available on this version unlike the (other) first release of this model.

also I can give you an example. The retro #1 737-800 "James Strong" was released as it was delivered to Qantas (without satcom) by GJ. The very next year Qantas added one.

Thumbs up Re: QF B789 “Yam Dreaming” - CI A359 Carbon Fibre

Thanks to beautiful Australia and... the JCW Version made it of course also to FRA

This plane is a little bit special as it flies regular on ist LHR -Perth trip over us here at FRA and therefore also next to my house.

Last year, on the day when I've got 55, it made a fly-over exact at 5h00 in the morning in the first sunshine of the longest day of the year just when we open here our Airport

So let's keep the fingers crossed that this B787 in 1:1 will be modified someday

I have the Phoenix version of Yam. Would like the JC Wings one as well. Wonder if it will make its way to Canada?

Wink Re: QF B789 “Yam Dreaming” - CI A359 Carbon Fibre

Well, that's an interesting story why we in FRA don't have this bird…

While traveling to Perth in August for 2 days I talked also to stuff of the local airport authority.

We know that QANTAS still have their rights for flights to FRA and we are wondering why they don’t use them as we also know that QANTAS wants to fly to us from Perth nonstop.

The problem is… the airport Perth

The airport has two Terminals (domestic and international, and both fare away on the opposite side of the airport). As QANTAS is located in the domestic one their flight from LHR is also located there.

But this is not what the airport authority wants

They say that all additional international flights from QANTAS (like to FRA or maybe also to CDG) have to be located in the international Terminal.

That’s why we don’t have here the chance to see this nice bird close… only as an overfly from and also back to Perth

PS: Regarding “overfly”… see the attached pics taken out from one of our canteens here at FRA (can you see it on the second pic )

You are correct Martin. A good source of information on this issue has been published in Australian Aviation www.australianavaiation.com.au with regards to Perth Airport fighting Qantas for many months and still going. In fact a very rare event happened today for a staged public attention forum for a TV media event to draw public attention. Both Qantas and Virgin Australia CEO's took center stage to complain about the astronomical fees and charges that all these once government (state or federal) owned city airport's around Australia, that are now private charge. Some Australian airports charge 50% to 70% more for apron parking / ramp parking / gate parking more than any other airport in the world. Making us the most expensive place to fly to for any airline! That cost is passed on of course. That is not even close to what the Sydney or Melbourne airports charge for customer car parking. Google the car parking rates if you wish. Macquire Bank owns a few airports now I believe. I hope Sydney's new second airport under construction now and eta opening in 2026 named (Nancy Bird Walton) remains NSW state owned. Thanks Martin for the info. One day Qantas and this bird will go back to FRA & CDG & ROM, only a matter of time really.
