Default Deleting and Banning Autobots

Hello again everyone, it appears that the autobot situation is getting out of control. I receive pm's everyday from DAC members alerting me of another autobot posting including one today that listed 5 new autobots alone. I have been diligent in banning these nuisances and I have contacted the administrators of the forum for assistance, but it is to no avail. I have deleted probably close to 25 in the last few weeks.

For those not familiar with an autobot, most reply to a thread with one or two words:

+1
Nice picture
Nice model
I agree

However it is now getting to the point where it is useless. Moving forward it is no longer necessary to contact me to alert me of another autobot. I will just ban them as I see a post. I know I wont catch them all but its just not worth the time and effort anymore...Hope everyone understands.

Makes a guy want to say, 'the hell with it', give up the administrator role, step back, and just enjoy the discourse. Have you considered that? Doug

Well there is a solution to this, that being making this forum a closed community or apply three security questions before a new member can join.

if they reply the wrong answers, they can't get in and they would automatically be declined.

Question is, does the DA.C forum software support this feature?

Sorry, I'm still laughing about the "+1". Yeah, it is funny.

I remember back when I started here in 2000 (almost 20 years ago), that folks did it to boost the posting numbers or to feel included.

Hey, could it be the new wave of "inclusivity" that REQUIRES us to accept posts like these? Hmmmm. Really makes you think...

Oh, and to make this post more "plane worthy" - IF200 has the best 744 mould and JC Wings needs to continue to work on their cockpit area on theirs.

Thumbs up Re: Deleting and Banning Autobots

Totally. Things have changed here over the years alright, but still a decent venue, IMHO.

DAC is the one And only Diecast model forum.
And we members are the élite of the community. (There are a few exceptions)
we have a Mission on this earth, we are changing the course of history.
I am in d'avoir of a Nobel prize in diecast collection.
