Default Replacement 01: VH-OJB from Herpa to JCW

Hey all!

Here my first replacement from Herpa Wings PVC to JC Wings diecast metal of the following aircraft:

Boeing 747-438
QANTAS Australia "Wunala Dreaming 01"
VH-OJB "City of Sydney"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

This model is discontinued and new in old stock, that I reserved at Diecast Trading, Utrecht, The Netherlands.

This one was a very hard one to find in JC Wings version, but patience really paid off well and finally with this all my Australian B747's are diecast metal @ 1:200.
My main objective has been achieved with this beauty. Wunala Dreaming means Kangaroo Dreaming for those wondering.

The photo's are from the seller they are just for reference now, this gallery and it's post will be updated once this B744 arrives, so here they are:

What I also will do is make pics of this newer diecast metal version of the model compared to the PVC version of it from Herpa Wings.
That with Nalanji Dreaming as well with some Wunala + Nalanji set photo's would be cool too

So for now stay tuned

Yeah I'm sure it is
That I also noticed with the JC Wings VH-EBU Nalanji Dreaming as well, just wanted to complete my Australian Flying artworks display set

After this will be this one:

Boeing 747-2D7B
Thai Airways International "Classic Livery 1979-1996"
HS-TGA "Visuthakasatriya"
Scale 1:200
Inflight 200

My uncle flew this one in the late 1980's to early 1990's, it was in service from 1979 to 1996, I did find one in France, but if there is anyone here at DA.C that can spare me one, that would be great.

But for now I will focus on VH-OJB, one B747 at a time

Yeah that Thai is pure epic beauty
it looks simple and still very epic in ways, my uncle flew with the HS-TGA about 5 times, it's just something I need to get, July 24, 2019 will be the day I will add it to my armada of B747's.

But first VH-OJB, also a very hard one to get with the Wunala Dreaming 01 art and from JC Wings, glad I found mine.

Good find of a nice model. I lost out on that one but was lucky to find the -OEJ in the Wunala Dreaming livery. I did get a tee shirt of it though

Yeah this was a worthy find, JC wings made the best VH-OJB imo, their colors are not too overdone, but mainly how thw wings are mounted and the added crystallized landing lights it just looks more complete

As for VH-OEJ Wunala Dreaming 02 I do have that aircraft but with the Rio Summer Olympic Livery for the Australian Team of 2016 which is also from JC Wings this one that being:

B747 No 31:

Boeing 747-438ER
QANTAS Australia "Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Livery 2016"
VH-OEJ "Wunala"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

Here the final display with my TNT B747-4HAF/ER/SCD

Hey all

Yesterday on June 26, 2019 the model finally arrived:
Diecast Trading did a fantastic job with the packing and also many thanks to Kevin for letting me reserve this beauty !

Boeing 747-438
QANTAS Australia "Wunala Dreaming 01"
VH-OJB "City of Sydney"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

So here the pics of the box:

Top view revealing the Wunala Dreaming artwork:

Rear is all red:

Sides;

This side showing VH-OJB - Wunala Dreaming 01:

And this side VJ-OEJ - Wunala Dreaming 02:

Inner packing good as always:

And box contents:

Here the pics of the model:

I'm glad this shot worked out perfectly :3

Note the crystallized landing lights in the nose gear & wings and the orange hue's the art has as well:

Face view of this red giant:

It's packed with details colors you name it, just Perfected! So +1 on that AussieJets!

Top head view:

Here a nice photo I managed to make of the left head side also revealing the Wunala Dreaming name tag just under the blue/black paws of the front roo:

The more I Look at this model, the more photo's I took of it, just happy they worked out exceptionally well.
There by revealing it's orange hue's and other colors that were used for the Wunala Dreaming art, the painted engines, it's Winglets make it very complete:

Here the lovely painted winglets, the other side is also different as the first model shot reveals:

Here the tail shot:

Still got more incoming haha well photo's but many thanks man it's been an awesome 5 years where of 3 and a half here at DA.C xD

VH-OJB like VH_EBU were not easy finds though, even I was able to buy them both from Diecast Trading s, just comes to show that some of these models shops can be your ultimate gold mine for such lost treasures

Anyways on with the rest

Herpa Wings vs JC Wings the Major Differences Revealed:

Herpa Wings PVC:

JC Wings Diecast Metal:

Herpa Wings PVC:

JC Wings Diecast Metal:

Herpa Wings PVC:

JC Wings Diecast Metal:

Herpa Wings PVC:

JC Wings Diecast Metal:

Herpa Wings PVC:

JC Wings Diecast Metal:

Herpa Wings PVC:

JC Wings Diecast Metal:

Both Herpa Wings PVC & JC Wings Diecast Metal in combo shots:

So yeah from PVC to Diecast it was well worth the change alright!
Just more colors, better use of the correct color pallets and much better Art accuracy the patterns of the art are better with the JC Wings by an Air mile and that with all the better details the diecast metal model has over the PVC version as well, it's just the better result for this wonderful model and a true must have for all you die-hard Boeing 747 fans & model collectors.

Final Display:

32 B747's in main display 30 are diecast metal 2 are PVC, But yea almost there!

And there you have it, during the making of these photo's and making this long post Lou Reed kept me company, here the concert I had playing all day, this music has good movement it really kept my mind focused:

Lou Reed Live at the Capitl Theatre, Passic, New Jersey, USA (September 25, 1984)

Just a major Lou Reed & B747 Fan, goes very well together

While the Herpa plastics are very nice. It's nice to switch the out to the diecast if the model is available. We done Goldie and nice review. Qantas has just six 747-400ER's left in their Fleet. I will post my inflight200 VH-OEE when is lands it's on short finals now.
Congratulations on your new edition landing home to your place

Hey many thanks man, replacing VH-OJB from PVC to Diecast Metal was really worth it, the complacence photo's really don't lie about it either, the photo's also show the beautiful orange hue's on their red painted bodies as well so it's not only red paint on these.

Hey thanks

Only thing that isn't Disney related, it's Pokemon actually, it's the ANA B747-481D with the Pokemon Pikachu Pocket Monsters Livery from 1999-2006.
----------------------------------------------

Anyways the one remaining that I am seeking besides PH-MCF is the following:

Boeing 747-2D7B
Thai Airways International Classic Livery from 1979
HS-TGA or HS-TGB
Scale 1:200
J-Fox Models / Inflight 200

Here a photo of HS-TGB from J-Fox Models:

HS-TGA looks exactly the same except the registration & name obviously.

And I can tell you it's not going to be easy, some help is always welcome though.
But hey if anyone has found one could any of you please DM me of it, many thanks

Beautiful plane Gold Leader! I have this one as well. I did not get the other one with the silver pylons as I don't really care for the look versus the red pylons with art work.

Also, I love the consistent manor in which you did your comparison shots! Really gives one an easy way to do the comparison and you could probably teach some of the members on this site on how to do comparison shots!

Hey many thanks bud

As for comparison shots always make the exact same angle shots of the two items you are trying to compare, plus using a white background can help as that will catch the overdose of flash or light, it does for me anyways.
I just used the inner boxes that JC Wings uses to contain pack models, that I used for my background and that really did the job just fine

The camera I used was a 2003 Sony CyberShot DSC-V3, it's going to get repaired though, which I can get done about 40KM from me at a Camera renovation & Repair store for a good 70 Euro.
It sometimes make a full white over flashed photo but it seems fixable which is brilliant.
Here a review of the digicam I used it was one of the best handhelds of 2003-2004, my dad bought it via is work with a Mini tripod for around 970 euro, it's Karl Zeiss Lens is a major advantage of it.
https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscv3

Photography with computer hardware & Models has always been something I just enjoy doing but also of landscapes and such, so I kind of maintained the same methods no tri-pod just hold your breath and wait for the perfect moment to take the shot.

Here my gallery from Scandinavia from 2009:
Scandinavia 2009

the best photo's from Sweden are probably these ones:

And these from Norway:

And at Bergen was the A Hamilton code named "Project Sigma" one of the most expensive personal yachts during the time, registered in The Bahama's:

The best photo from this review is most deffinitely this one:

I used it as my wallpapaer as well and feel free to use my photography for such purposes as well

But anyways Photography has always been a hobby for me, I never wasted money in smartphones but instead getting proper camera for the job but not too expensive this cam does all I want it to and that is all I seek from a camera

I never took use of photoshop or other such odd methods, such software only makes real photo's look fake and edited imo, a good photographer does not need to reply on such software if the actual images are perfect for their needs, thus I always stuck to the original images as they give me the best of memories and the best example from what I took a photo of

Great pics Gold Leader! Thanks for the tips and camera info! I'm sure others will find it helpful as well. So true regarding same angle/position with the two subject's you are comparing...consistency is key!
