Default Air France B 727-200 JC Wings

After a wait of almost 14 months, I have just received this very nice B 727.

Sadly, the emergency walkways and APU exhaust on the wings are missing.
Difficult to explain these omissions, these details have not been forgotten on the IBERIA version.
They will be made with decals.

The anti glare panel is not exactly what it should be but can easily be corrected with a decal.
Some aircraft had no anti glare panel at all.

The rest of the model is very good, accurate and nicely detailed.
This aircraft was my second home for five years, an acquisition that I don't regret.

I will buy another one to make a custom with the ACI livery, ACI stands for Air Charter International and was the charter arm of AF and Air Inter.
I already have the decals.
Stay tuned.

Better pictures of the model are available on the Aviation Megastore web site.

Jean Pierre

By the way ... only three remaining models at Aviation Megastore

Very nice Jean-Pierre, in what year did Air France retire the 727?

The last flight was between Tel Aviv and Paris Orly on October 31, 1993.

Remember the AF 727 in Larnaca in the late 80's. Have to admit that the JC wings B727 is the best mould around.
Nice addition to your AF fleet.

Regards Modestos,.

My first flight was on an Air France 727, from Milan Linate to Paris CDG.
What a beautiful airplane...

It was a beautiful and great aircraft as solid as a rock.

Very reliable and technically speaking very comfortable.
Three people in the cockpit, three engines, three generators, there hydraulic systems ...

Big engines are now available with a lot of thrust, only two are enough to fly aircraft the size of the B 777 or A 350, everything is redundant in these aircraft ...except the engines.

With a problem on one of them, you are in emergency and in the case of an ocean crossing, you may have to wait 330 minutes flying on one engine before reaching a diversion.
Not really comfortable.

Maybe one day we will see another aircraft with three engines but it will be less economical to operate than a twin engine and money is more important.

Jean Pierre.

I flew on a TAA 727-200 Melbourne to Hobart 1996. Great ride I loved it, and the rear airstairs of the aircraft were used as disembarking and boarding in Tassie as there were no aerobridges in Hobart (HBA) back in the day. Lovey Air France model JP shame about the emergency exits not on the wing by JCW. I have just pre-ordered the JCW Ansett 727-200.
