Welcome Terence,

Yes the 747-300 will be welcome flaps up and down, and Inflight200 can re-release the 747SP house so a lot more collectors can get a copy

Very nice collection indeed Steve. Its going to be a shame the day these beautiful birds disappear from our skies. Luckily, I have a few freighters come through every now and then. Feel free to send them up my way. I have plenty of room in my cabinet for them:-)

Lovely Models there Steve, that last pic of that Boeing 747-100 with the blue cheatline looks like one of PAA's B741's which they later took in service, that is memory serves me well

You are welcome JP. Goldie I am currently researching N731PA. What I have found about this aircraft is it was build line number # 4. It did wear Boeing House Colours. So was it the first production 747 for delivery? Yes it was. I know Pan Am named it "Clipper Bostonian" and it's first flight was on 10th of May 1968. Boeing flew it to the 1969 Paris Airshow on a non stop 5160 miles flight, and it arrived 3rd of June 1969. When Juan Trippe , attended the show, I am sure he said "I am glad I made the right decision". I am not sure when this aircraft was delivered to Pan Am but I can say this of what I found so far. When Pan Am found out that N731PA was attending the Paris airshow, this aircraft was still wearing Boeing house colours at the Boeing factory. Boeing refused Pan Am's insistent decree that the aircraft be repainted in American's premier airline colours for fear of affecting future sales potential to other airlines. (Guess who won that battle). In the early evening of the 2nd of June 1969, Senior engineering test pilots Don Knutson and Jess Wallick assisted by chief "Experimental" flight engineer P.J de Roberts took this 747 to Paris Le Bourget and to the eyes of the world. On board was Joe Sutter, Mal Stamper, Tex Boullioun (Boeing's head of the airliner division) with order book on hand. Just imagine for a minute, what was going through these guys minds. Even Boeing's management thought the future was only super sonic travel. Here is a picture of this brand new first ever seen "Jumbo jet" parked next to the Concorde Prototype @ Pairs 1969.

The B747-300 prototype had the same house livery colors as the B747-400ER:

If you were wondering
Just not sureif anyone did a diecast 1:200 model of the B743 with Boeing house colors.

I like your collection a lot because I collect 1:200 house liveries also but not limited to the 747.

The Boeing 747-300 in the house livery is only an artist impression. The 747-300 has never worn the Boeing house livery as it was a simple change from the classic 747 with a stretched upper deck and only needed a short test and certification program. The first build 747-300 was painted in Swissair colors during assembly and Boeing used that airframe for the testing and certification.

Here is my 747 house livery collection. Just the 747-8i is missing but will be added to the collection soon.

Hey very cool info about the B747-300, I knew that Swissair had the first just didn't know Boeing never made one with the house livey, but yea makes sense in a way, being a modified B747-200 in many ways, which is why KLM took use of the SUD upgrade meaning Stretched Upper Deck, yet the landing gear of a real B747-300 was stronger and the real B747-300's dd have some slight adjustments over the modified B747-200B/SUD's though, as Gene Forsheim told me he was lead designer of the B747SP and also took part on the B747-200 SUD program and parts of the B747-300 as well, Gene is a friend and member of my Boeing 747 Community at FB.

Very nice collection there though

Thanks for the info on the 747-300 = no house colours makes sense. That's one less to worry about. It's nice that you have the Inflight200 house747SP released in 2015. I only got all my 747 house colours in the last few months. So the SP presents a challenge for me, but that's the fun of the hobby. Thanks for sharing your collection and with only three post, fair to say welcome to the forum too. Your input was important. Thanks

Hi Steve very nice collection, I do not have any house colours models in my collection, and did not realise there were so many done, but they certainly look nice together and different, Its also nice to see and share your collections with other collectors, as it shows your individual interests and criteria's.

To be completely honest Steve, it was never meant to be like this. I first got the 747-8i, then sold it thinking it was a nice model but I would always get a Lufty 747-8i Rio 2016 livery 747-8i (in diecast) if it was ever done. Then I got the 747-400ER just because it became a Qantas bird. Follow that up by the polished roll out 747-400. By this stage the momentum had started. Inflight released the 747-400F how nice. Then I got the 747-8F and went back to Collectors Aircraft and the rest is history, got the special 50th anniversary model of the first 747 and the SR.

Arguably one of the most significant aircraft in our lifetime the 747, presented to us in 1;200 diecast Boeing House Corporate colours from start to finish. A pleasure to share especially since I came in late on these releases.

Here is a little did you know facts - That all the flight certification for the 747-8 program was on the freighter rego N747EX. Boeing had the initials JW of Jack Waddell on the forward landing gear doors on this aircraft. Boeing's first 747 test pilot. On the passenger version of this aircraft " Boeing sunrise livery rego N6067E it wore initials JFS Joseph Frederick Sutter

It will be I had the first edition once. It is good to know what these initials were for. Joe Sutter was there in Seattle for the unavailing of the 747-8I as well. See below.

Hey nice addition there Steven of the Boeing 747-820 Prototype and Joe Stutter there aka the creator of the Boeing 747 it's self, I also think he took part of the B2707 SST program as well, if memory serves me well

I still hope you find that B747SP-20 tho

20 is the Boeing customer code for Boeing aircraft , just for those wondering.

Wonderful collection- thanks for sharing.

Collecting Boeing house colours is what my collection is mostly about too..

For a bit of trivia, there are some pilots that I fly with at my company (NCA) that have flown all base versions of the 747: 100, 200, 300, 400, SP and 8 at various airlines during their careers!

Thank you AirCal, a Boeing 747SP House colour acquired that has been sitting in a shop in far east Europe new in box since it's release in June 2015! This I could not believe myself, I had already prepared myself to give up on this model.
Thank you Bob for the lead.

Great collections of Boeing House 747's.

I really appreciate every time I see a 747 flying, especially the SP.

I am currently researching all Boeing 747 derivatives & corporate liveries. Perhaps this belongs in another part of this forum if so, Mods please move it there.

My question is what did this aircraft look like before it was chopped up. What was the rego and, can we please have one JCW / GJ

Now that is interesting indeed Steve. Really did not know there was a proto combi 400. KLM had many of those..

Very interesting find indeed, hmm I could not find any other pics of the Boeing 747-400 Combi either, kinda strange then, could be that Combi was photo shopped on it though, sadly everything is possible these days.

My first look at this thread, and this is what I see. I'm starting to feel nauseous. 🤢

I believe this (partial) airframe was used by Boeing as a static fatigue test frame and as such never flew. Wasn't the first 400 M (combi) painted in airline colours from day one?

Don't be nauseous, I was only after help and I have since found out that Boeing called the "747-400 Combi" the 747-400M model as you have stated, and also thought I found pictures of this aircraft @ www.boeing.com . I was not 100% sure but now I know, Thank you for your help Tony. The 747-400M first flew on June 30 1989 and entered service with KLM on Sept 12 1989. Due to be retired in 2021. So I guess if KLM paint one of their 747-400m's up in 100 years I will get one.

Hey my friend, it was not I who offered the valuable information. I was just saddened to see a beheadded Queen.

No you have just confirmed what I was not sure of. Type in on Boeing's website 747-400 combi and it leads you to some combi photos plus a polished 747-400. Now I know it was the original 747-400 and there is nothing more than the static head. Thanks for your help again Tony.

You could get an other polished B747-400 and modify it with the COMBI naming as pictured , only applying the Side Cargo Door won't be easy, but I don't think it's it impossible either

Just an idea though
