Default NG Models New 1:200 Scale BizJets Pt1: G550

Hi lads. Ok I have managed to find the time tonight to slip out the first review of the new moulds from NG Models. I suspect that many of you wanted an airliner but from what I can tell very few bizjets have been made at all in any scale so you can't complain it isn't reasonably original!

Anyway the mould itself looks pretty awesome so if Bizjets float your boat strap yourself in. The first new mould is a Gulfstream G550. Click the link for lots of photos and a review:

Nice idea, but i still wonder if the Biz-Jet market isn't a overrated market. Anyway, overall i'm impressed by the printing accuracy of NG so i am looking forward to whats coming next. For the records: we're still missing decent 767s, A310/300s, VC-10/Super VC-10s not to speak of all the left-aside-russian moulds. (but better wait a little longer, and get rewarded afterwards than getting a sub-standard mould).

As NG has got a decent 757 in 1/400 ny hope is growing, that there'll be some decent Classics in 1/200 aswell.

it looks nice but i would have thought there was more profit in say a 757 or other commercial aircraft many more liveries to use the mould and a greater demand.

Be interested to hear the reasoning behind the Biz-jet release.

I wasn't expecting a biz-jet but I think this could be a successful mould! I can see the USAF VIP and USCG C-37A variant selling well. Additionally, I would personally love to see some of the old Nike G550s made

If you're making good on your word, then perhaps we'll finally get a manufacturer to produce a Gates Learjet 25-35 series.

But I won't hold my breath.

NG may have been partially motivated by the sales of the G200 650 and secondary market prices.

So biz jets are not everyone’s cup of tea. There is a market for them. Inflight’s Lockheed Jetstar seems to be selling quite well. I have six of them. So far I have one example of Gemini’s G650. I’m sure I’ll purchase a couple of these G550s too. With NG becoming the current gold standard, hopefully the other manufacturers will up their game in whatever aircraft types they produce.

looks good so far... I'm down for some C-37 variants. I'm glad NG decided to go with the G5 as there's many cool real liveries(esp govt and military) that can be applied to this mould, unlike Gemini with their G650 so far producing fantasy regs with silly paint schemes.

I wouldn't mind a bizjet, just haven't been too excited about the G2 releases. Maybe NG will do something different.

The most notable exterior differences are the nose shape, cockpit windows, and the G550 has 7 passenger windows per side and the G650 has 8 per side.

According to the suggestions, we would like to produce it, but we are not sure about the wing color, white, gray? Who can give a color code is the best.

Be interested to hear the reasoning behind the Biz-jet release.
Are you kidding? With a business jet you have literally unlimited possibilities for liveries because it comes down to whatever the owner wants.

I'll probably grab one of these and one of their Falcon's as well because, come on, trijet lol

it may not be particularly easy to see when spotting, but the G5 is considerably smaller than the G6.

I was referring to what has been made. under that mindset any model could have an unlimited number of possibilities for livery irreverent of if it exists or not.

more or less. People would be more willing to buy airliners that actually exist. As for corporate jets, I don't think people would care if they are true or not. The manufacturers would likely stay away from most real stuff since the owners would likely sue if their plane was being sold all over. Hell, Cathay does that XD
