Default NG Model - Two New 1:200 Moulds To be Announced

Based on a reliable source, I gather that NG Model have two new 1:200 moulds moving in to production, scheduled for release over the Summer, just for fun, what are the Collectors thoughts on what they may be?

Oh now this is very exciting news, NG are great with collectors and loads have requested the 757 in 1:200.
When will there be an official announcement?

I'd love to see a 727-100/200, DC-10 or A310 mold. But knowing the accurate molds released in 1:400 and the CRJ-200 in 1:200. These are exciting news for 1:200 scale collectors. A Twinn otter would be also welcomed or a fairchild Metro 23.

When will there be an official announcement?

Looking to an announcement soon, no timescales but have been assured the moulds are in development and a release date will be confirmed shortly.

I would love to see the B764 being made. But would they make a brand new mould for an aircraft with so few sales options? DeltaFlot, current Delta, Continental, and United.

Awesome news! Been crossing my fingers that NG was going to get into the 1:200 game (beyond the handful of CRJs they've done). I think it would be very apropos if they do a 757-200, since that's what made such a big splash in 1:400.

Hoping for a DC7 but don't think so. 757 is possible but why another one? Fokker F28 would be very nice too. Or a better DC10.

100% agree with you JP. So far no F28 tooling at all, it could be in with a chance. My next guess goes to the license to print money the F27 used to produce all models big time

I expect nothing special .... a CRJ-700 or 900. Maybe a Dash-8-400 as manufacturers seem to be pretty uninspired when nit comes to new releases nowadays. I also wonder when IF will finally show us their new A310 mould.

It seems to me that there is a huge gap to be filled by not really having any/many 737-300s or 400s out there in this scale. I'm sure a great 737-300 mould would make a mint with all the possible livery options from today and the previous 30 odd years or so.

I know very little about NG or their models, but I seem to think a 757 is good guess. Kinda like the idea of a F28 or A340-200 also.

Gosh, so many 757’s have already been done. Gemini and JCW have their 757 issues of late, but they’re serviceable.

It’s pretty amazing how many 1:400 757’s NG pumped out in such a short time. Whatever NG does, I hope it’s on a massive scale like that. I want my American carriers!!

You guys are missing the point. NG doesn't just bring more of the same old, status quo. They offer improvement. Refinement. A better product. Look at what they are doing in 1:400 scale: bar none the best diecast airliner models to date. Or the recent thread in the 1:200 forum comparing their Delta CRJ-200 to Gemini's.

Gemini and others make nice models, but NG is raising the bar. I hope they become just as prolific in 1:200 as they are in 1:400. I welcome whatever the new moulds are, even if they are types we've seen plenty of already. If they are better, I think people will buy them. And in the case of the 757s, there's no shortage of liveries that will sell well even if done before.

I think NG is a 1/400 scale manufacturer and they will most likely stay close to the that size range.

I expect they will stretch their CRJ to a 700 or 900. I would love an Air Nostrum or BritAir CRJ1000!

Either another CRJ family member or perhaps another regional like a EMB135/145 or prop-liner.

I highly doubt that they’ll do a large single-aisle or wide-body.

Yes I am fully aware that there are three F27 manufactures EC. The reason I suggested it was I was hopping for a manufacture with a new tool if they do have a F27 is to use it and not park it on the back shelf until 2057 know what I mean? JCW have released two or three models AF and Hobbymaster when did they last release a F27?

I got your point. But i tend to believe that NG could solely be fosused on nowadays aircraft like 787, 330, 777 or 320, 737NG and MAX ... i would be very glad if it would be different.

There is also need for another MD-80/87 or 721/722 or 737-200/300/400. i spotted NGs CRJ at my retailer once, and their production standard seems to be pretty high regarding accuracy. I'd love to see some retro stuff from them. You raised up a good point: liscense work ....lets see what will happen.

If indeed it’s just going to be CRJ extended I agree that would “suck”
One would think the 757 is a given.
Let’s wait and see

What I mean is, it makes sense to build on what you already do well.

I have no doubt they will move into others with continued success. In my opinion - it's just not now.

But I am often wrong!

In that case I hope NG Model tries their luck with an Embraer 120 or 145 in KLM exel livery. I would not mind some more regional aircraft in 1:200 anyway.

757 is a nice idea (thinking of all the classics they released in 1/400), though i think the 727 has more potential.

So what you’re saying is that no one on this thread has guessed correctly either of the 2 new molds you are making in 1/200??

Hi Guys - 1:200 isn't usually my area of expertise but as you may know NG have gotten into the habit of sending me their sample models for review. I'm told that both these 1:200 moulds are on their way to me. in fact the box is sitting at the UPS warehouse in Auckland. When it arrives I'll pull together a review for you like I have for the 1:400 samples

I wish it'll be a decent DC-10 mould. The inflight one is absolutely not up to today's standard.

Agreed Franz, it would be nice to see a re worked DC10. I allways loved herpa's DC10 mold, ok it was plastic but they were (are) true gems. Shame that herpa doesn't use this mold anymore..

I got the Herpa Sabena DC-10. Imho the Inflight mould is the better. Ok, the undercarriage could be a little more accurate - but imho its is a common IF200 disease that undercarriages could be better detailed if you compare it to GJs models. Ok, maybe the positioning of the cockpit windows (and shape) due to a slightly too big nosecone - but still acceptable for me.

Lets put is this way: their DC-10 is far better than their B721/2....
