Default Ansett's B747-312 Sydney 2000 01, VH-INJ is Here!

Hey all

Finally something new from my end, here my 28th Boeing 747 scale 1:200 model which is the following

Boeing 747-312
Ansett Australia Limited "Southern Cross Livery 1997-2007"
VH-INJ "Sydney 2000 01"
✈️
Scale 1:200
JC Wings / BBOX

To find a new one in box took me 2 years and 4 months to find, a friend of mine from Frankfurt, Germany had two and he was willing to part with one, this was just fantastic!!!
That friend is DA.C member Still Air

So major credit goes to him for helping me this Epic Australian B743!

And within 3 days this beauty arrived, ultra fast shipping and fantastic packing, Martin aka Still Air from the DA.C Community helped me out with this beautiful blue 'n' white bird, enjoy the photo's!

Firstly here's some pics of the box and it's contents

Here the pics of the model it's self:

I love this logo and the vivid blue hues within the backdrop, just brilliant

And how the dark blue blends in to light blue and from light blue to white, it's very well done:

This model is a must have for all Flying Artwork B747's!

here you can clearly see that the artwork is in a mirrored config:

Here the rest of the pics of this beauty!

Also note the crystallized landing lights in the wing and nose gear:

After making this photo I kind of when photo crazy made a few more at slightly different angles, this model is just amazing all over!

Here that cool Sydney 2000 art logo, also note the shadow effects under the text, good that the artist did keep that in mind!

Here this AAL B747-312 in all her glory, from this view, I always loved how B747-300's looked like:

Here the tail art logo, it resembles the Southern Cross, hence the me of this livery being Southern Cross Livery, which was used from 1997 to 2007, the year that Ansett closed doors...

Here a perfect rear shot, I have a feeling my photography has improved somehow <3

This shot also clearly points out on how the artwork is mirrored:

Here some stand shots

A nice wooden foot, always loved that from JC Wings, a shame their newer models don't have these, something I won;t have to worry about.

Here from the other side

And a closeup of it's head area, just pure beauty from every angle!

Here pics of my two AAL B747's that are the following

Boeing 747-312
Ansett Australia Limited "Southern Cross Livery 1997-2007"
VH-INJ "Sydney 2000 01"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings / BBOX

Boeing 747-412
Ansett Australia Limited "Southern Cross Livery 1997-2007"
VH-ANA "Sydney 2000 02"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings / BBOX

They make a great set!

Here from their tail views:

Here the final Display of both AAL B747's:

And a total of 28 B747's atm, this pic always gets updated as I slowly near the final amount of 32 B747's:

Here some Ska music I was listening to when I was making this review XD

Hey many thanks man, all for the love of the Queen of the Skies, Joe Stutters miracle and as a major Boeing 747 fan myself this one was really a must have

Not many to go for now VH-EBU is next, I successfully reserved it for April 24th, Nalanji Dreaming from JC Wings/ BBOX that being

So far so good though

Thanks DC-10 Tony Yeah well don't forget ZS-SAJ Ndizani, a SAA B747-312, you can check my thread of that beauty here:
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...j-ndizani.html

And VH-EBU Nalanji Dreaming a QF B747-338
https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...e-changes.html

And there may be a few others, the ones I wanted I have and are getting, Nalanji I get on April 24 , so one B747 per month yeah is doable for my doings, I just make reserves to make it doable hehe

Were there any specially panted DC-10's or MD-11's like these flying artwork B747's?

I don't recall any. If anything, it would most likely be on the MD-11 since murals on airliners wasn't really a thing untill the late 90s I think... But don't quote me on that. I'm positive there are more knowledgeable folks here who know more than I.

Many thanks Baerke

As for JC Wings and B747-300's they did quite a few though, like the SAA B747-312 ZS-SAJ Ndizani:

Here the AAL B747-312 VH-INJ for the ref:

And the QF B747-338 VH-EBU Nalanji Dreaming for example

I don't have a box shot of the Ndizani but it's definitely from JC Wings like my Ansett B747-312 is like my SAA B747-312 Ndizani also is
And it could be that Gemini Jets 200 also was part of making these, not sure though

Nice, love the Olympics liveries. It's a real shame what happened to Ansett.

I got to watch my school headmaster run a length of the torch relay as a kid in the lead up to the Sydney games.

Hey thanks M404

Well there are a few on ebay, but more for what I paid for mine mainly the shipping and custom taxes made all the ones on ebay too much for me, the customs really love to mess things up for anything you buy outside the EU...

But hey if you need help finding a VH-INJ lemmie know okay?
As I happen to know where a few are still being sold

Thumbs up Re: Ansett's B747-312 Sydney 2000 01, VH-INJ is He

It was a great pleasure for me to sell this model to GOLD LEADER as I was 100% sure that it will have a beautiful new "home base"

This model is really a beauty and so I bought 2 of them when it came out...

Normally I do this with all B747's which are special for me... one in the IF200 version, the other in the JCWINGs version

Both manufactures have their pro and con's and therefore this makes sence for me

Again I only could recommend highly GOLD LEADER and hope that this nice collection will continue to grow...

@AussieJets
Anything for an old friend, if I were an admin I would of fixed it myself
Yet I don't know what exactly broke it, but I knew it was fixable to some certain point
And it's Willem btw, yer fine otherwise hah xD

@StillAir
Yeah this is quite the beauty to have man! Many many thanks for your help and support with this one, it really feels great to have this masterpiece within my fleet of Queens

B747's 4 Life,it's the best aircraft of all time, 50 years of experience and they are still flying the 8i's will most certainly be around for an other 30+ years, left alone the NASA/SOFIA B747SP-21's are going to remain in service to 2034 even being, just proving how well the design of the B747 truly is, as Joe Stutter the father of the B747 once said, the Boeing 747 was designed to last, a hard fact right there.

Thanks Gold Leader. This model is a gem and also Ansett's last livery is known as the "Starmark livery" which incorporates the Southern Cross as you have pointed out. And I agree with you about Joe Sutter. What a legend! I have been watching as many documentaries as I can about the 707 and the development of the 747 and while Boeing took a big gamble with the 707, the 747 soon after and that risk to was enormous to Boeing

Yeah that exactly man
Next week VH-EBU from JC Wings is added to my fleet of Boeing 747's fora total of 29, and I think I found way to add 8 more in my main display after hitting 32, as I can add in 4 glass planks in the left & right part of the display fora total 8 extra B747.s having a total of 40, this gives me more options More Queens is never a bad thing

Yeah that is a must have indeed, but I just have other priorities for now.

Next is the JC Wings QF B747-338 VH-EBU "City of Warnambool" "Nalanji Dreaming" tomorrow that will be a fun photo shoot to do
