Default Gemini200 Philippine Airlines A321NEO

Philippine Airlines currently operates 6 A321NEOs, with another 15 ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex) variants on the way. The NEOs are powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1133G turbofans. The first six aircraft seats 12 in Business Class, which are lie-flat, while Economy seats 156. The NEOs are fitted with personal IFE from nose to tail. The six aircraft are routinely deployed on PAL’s flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Port Moresby, Sapporro.

The nose... it just continues to look less and less like an A321 with each new release

Is Airbus going for the A350 nose-blend with the traditional A321-look?

Appears so...

you said it...but the nose looks better on the port side on a certain angle. The starboard seemed to have the longer part of windshield...kinda misaligned when viewing from the top.

Thank you, 747-400ERX! The never ending saga of the Gemini200 A321 nose haha! I also find the cockpit windows a bit big. But the nose on their A319s look better...still not perfect, but better than their larger siblings

Well hopefully Gemini will get around to doctoring up that nose just a little bit. Otherwise not a bad model.

Maraming Salamat to the OP for taking the time to post/share high quality photos of his newest 1/200 PAL A321neo from Gemini 200. I like the different shot angles you took and the closeups. Congrats on building up your PAL 1/200 fleet. Cheers! T7

That's one of the reasons this hobby can be a challenge and be enjoyable at the same time! The many different ways you will undertake when you are on the hunt for that specific model you have your sights set on; is a mix of emotions that collectors will experience, but when they finally do acquire that model the time/effort was well worth it! Then after a few days/weeks/months you will start another model hunt! Cheers! Ingat T7

My original Air Canada A321 nose section is not perfect, but it's heaps better than what's been going on these past couple of years. IF200 has gotten the A320 series on the 1st attempt.

Pretty ridiculous rules if you ask me. All these regulatory control these days is exactly why forums are dying. Look back at 6 years ago when collectors posted photos of a new release. The comments were a mix of criticism on the manufacturers work (both positive and negative). The whole point of posting detailed photos of a model is to help others decide on a purchase. I can't pretend GJ's A321 mould is excellent, in fact it's so horrendous to me I that I to this day only own 1 A321 of theirs.

Yes, I also have my original AC A321 C-GITV and it's staying in my collection and will not be parting with it. However, I do have a duplicate as well; which I will be selling soon.

Personally, I don't mind if DAC collectors make positive/neutral/negative comments on any of my models that I posted in the past. I came to expect the different types of feedback, based on the DAC being a public forum.

I've been on the sidelines with photo sharing the past year, since I de-activated my flickr account. However, I will be posting some photos soon after I fine a new file sharing application.

Yes, I do believe Richard (RStretton) was not a fan of these new DAC rules as well. Will be interesting to see if anybody on the DAC will be the first to start the new 'critique' threads since the new moderators have been put into place (arinmuk and crownvic).

Cheers! T7

Yes it is a challenge! Especially here in the Philippines where models of our local airlines are sold out, even abroad This particular model that I posted just arrived in a Hobbiestock branch near my place two weeks ago. Got the last piece 6 days after the models were shipped from the factory. Good thing I pre-ordered the model, even when I doubts about the details (Skytrax logo used was incorrect, and the “Philippines” font was too italicised). Still happy to get this model as it flies on one of the longest A321NEO flights in the world.

Thank you Gold Leader! It was all just taken from an Iphone, as well as the editing. I was inspired by some posters here with really high quality photos which makes me drool over models, even when they are out of my criteria.

The A321 is quite much older in design that the Dreamliner,f or those wondering the A321 Neo is a redesign of the classic A321 with more efficient engines and applied winglets, the interior might also be updated etc avionics etc.

The B757-200 might come close as looks go, even I always found Airbus have their own unique designs.

Now that many orders of the B737 MAX are being cancelled this can mean good news for Airbus as the European market goes

Planes like their A321 Neo & A330 Neo can surely make their place.

The A321Neo, even the Ceos have been dubbed as the 757 killer, despite lacking the performance and capacity of the 75. In fact PAL planned to lease a few end of the line 757s formerly operated by Shanghai Airlines back in 2014 to operate flights that are currently operated by the Neo.

A flying school here in the Philippines operates an A320 sim and it also recently introduced a separate sim for the NEO. I wonder what other differences do they have besides the engines and some avionics.

I do not think the NEO series has any avionic changes they are just re engined versions of the ceos hence the name.

I'm probably part of a minority here, but the nose looks great to me. The one thing about the 310/320 series that I never liked was the wonky nose. Made them look like a Playmobil toy than a real aircraft. For once, I like the looks of this A321NEO. Maybe because it resembles the 737MAX. You know, like a proper aircraft.

Oh BTW, I'm not familiar with that model, but when using a tripod, the single middle leg gets put under the heaviest end. If not, then the model is prone to tip-overs. Cheers.

Granted, the nose is not perfect. But my Hawaiian NEO sits nicely on the shelf beside the A330 and the 717.

A flying school here in the Philippines operates an A320 sim and it also recently introduced a separate sim for the NEO. I wonder what other differences do they have besides the engines and some avionics.
Ah that's awesome , good news for the European Aviation Market then as Airbus goes

I always loved the A318, I wonder if there will be Neo variants for A318, A319 & A320 as well hmm.

Oh BTW, I'm not familiar with that model, but when using a tripod, the single middle leg gets put under the heaviest end. If not, then the model is prone to tip-overs. Cheers.
The nose actually looks good from a certain angle. The best nose award from GJ200’s single aisle Airbus family goes to their A319s. Some of my friends who are hardcore Boeing fans actually admire the A321Neo. Besides the A350, the A321Neo is also PAL’s gamechanging aircraft, operating them on long and thin routes from Manila to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. In fact, PAL currently holds the longest scheduled flight of an A321Neo operating between Manila and Sydney; with a flight time ranging from 7.5Hrs to 8Hrs.

I’ve been really careful in moving the model with its stand attached. Thanks to this forum, I have been warned in the past about how flimsy the tripod stands can be. I initially expected the model to come with a metal stand (like the ones seen on their MD80s), and got disappointed at the moment photos came out from Taobao.

AFAIK A318 has been long dead, A319Neo is struggling with orders, and both the A320Neo and the A321Neo reigns the family.

Anytime I am back visiting the Philippines, I always have the Hobbiestock shops on my 'TO DO' list! I've been to their locations at Marquee Mall, Greenhills, Festival mall, and Glorietta mall. Always a pleasure checking out their stock and talking to the staff. Funny thing is that some of the counter display cases with their 1/400 models are stacked in a way that the boxes hide other models behind them, hee hee! I pointed that out to the staff, but they just smiled at my observation. Meaning, we are not going to re-arrange all the models based on my comment.

I like going to Marquee Mall, based on how close it is to my dad's place in Bataan and there's also another hobby store in the mall as well, I think on the same level. You are very fortunate to have the Hobbiestock chain of stores over there to personally visit. I unfortunately, don't have anymore on my end that are within a 3 hour commute. Cheers! T7

I live near Greenhills! Although I’ve noticed that stocks in both Glorietta and Marquee branches are better. Marquee is quite far though unless I’m around Angeles/Clark. Haven’t been to the branch at Festival Mall...

Nice A321! I hope to collect more Philippine Airlines models at some point. I am really glad that Gemini Jets keep the PAL models coming. I hope for another chance at a 742 in the current livery which i flew on a long time ago.

T7, I am glad you spoke of those places in Manila, I will have to ask my parents to stop in if they are in that area.

For the current livery PAL 742, There are two releases, One with Centennial Stickers, but complete livery (N207AE), and one with the normal , but non-standard all white fuselage without the grey waterline (EI-BZA). Both were release for the local toy convensions. more or less they were both limited to a hundred pieces each. Was eyeing on the N207 displayed in Greenhills branch, but it was already sold after a few weeks

Inflight's 742's except the one with the cheatline, are nowhere to be found. Maybe Inflight might release another one, or Gemini Jets might do one... Even Better, maybe JC Wings will make one with extended flaps!

These are the two sunriser 742s released by Inflight. Hoping for another release of the 747-400 from either IF or Gemini with RP-C7473 as it was the last revenue 747 flight for PAL almost five years ago.

Well Seven-Eight-Seven, I wish you all the best in acquiring more PAL models for your 1/200 fleet. Yes, kudos to both Gemini and Inflight200 for rolling out some fantastic 1/200 models over the past few years. We are masuwerte to have these 2 companies deliver some fine PAL models, while other airlines are not so fortunate with their 1/200 models. Yes, it's always nice to scoop up a model where you have actually flown on the 1:1 bird. Sorry, I can't remember that other hobby store in Marquee mall next to Hobbiestock? I also like your post about having your parents check out some models for you, very good to have some understanding family members on your hobby collecting models. My wife not so much! Cheers! T7
