Default British Airways 100th Anniversary

G'day Everyone! I am interested in adding to my collection the three British Airways B747-400 featuring the retro BOAC, Landor and Negus livery. I have been looking at my usual manufacturers (Gemini, JC Wings, Inflight200, Aviation 200, Phoenix, Blue Box) and have only found the Boeing 747-400 in Landor livery from Inflight200 announced.

Has anyone spotted an announcement for the other two (BOAC and Negus) liveries or another manufacturer for the Landor livery?

Thank you in advance for all your collaboration and support!

I was not aware that Inflight had an A319 mold. Interesting. Opens up many other possibilities.

It seems that BA may be doing a Negus B747-436 as well to complete the heritage liveries for their Boeing 747-436's:
https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/i...ge-livery-set/
well as the rumors are going

I mean this would look awesome right

That would be awesome and would increase my chances of flying on one of the retro livery 744s in June. I noticed on flightradar24 the BOAC 744 serviced the LHR/SEA route earlier this month so that gives me hope.

It's not a question of 'may be ' - they are and they have! Due back at Heathrow from the paintshop in Dublin on Wednesday. Models will follow!

Awesome news for us Boeing 747 Fans left alone us Classic livery fans as well
I just wish more airline companies would redo their classic liveries, then the old days are kind of back.

It is true that British commercial aviation started 100 years ago with a converted DH 4 bomber.

The aircraft was carrying some freight and only one passenger.

But celebrating the event and saying "100 years of British Airways" is misleading and untrue.
British Airways was created on 31 March 1974.

That is absolutely true Jean-Pierre, it is kind of misleading. But the retro liveries on the 747-400's is great. Would be nice if KLM did one too in their anniversary year.

Some clarification.

The first commercial flight between France and UK and vice versa took place on 8 February 1919, the aircraft was a Farman Goliath carrying 12 passengers.
The aircraft took off from Toussus le Noble near Paris and landed at Kenley, south of London.
Each passenger had to pay the equivalent of £ 15.

The crew was military, civilian pilots were not allowed by British authorities to fly over UK territory.

On 25 August 1919, a DH 4 flew to Paris with some freight and one passenger, a reporter from the Evening Standard who claimed the distinction of flying on the world's first regular daily international scheduled flight.

that's what i thought, British Airways as in the airline is really not that old because KLM on the other hand is truly the oldest airline still operating under it's original name, KLM is the one turning 100 years old this year, even Air France is much older than BA, they started forming in the early 1930's before the War began i believe..

It's a PR scam as indeed the current BA is really only 45 years old and nothing to do with the original 'British Airways' that formed from several small companies'. If they thought it was really 100 years old, they would have repainted a 747 in Imperial Airways colours and not one of the schemes that the current BA 747s wore.

Imperial Airways was operating between 31 March 1922 to 1939.

Yes, the BA100 thing is all a bit misleading but technically BA can trace its ancestoral roots to that flight by (I think) Air Transport and Travel back in 1919 from London to Paris. Those with an interest in commercial aviation history know it’s a bit of a tenuous link to a centenary celebration but it’s all good publicity for BA and who doesn’t love a retro jet?

The Negus 747 is due out of the paint shop today. As someone who got interested in aviation just about the time BA was actually formed - a process that started in April 1972 and completed by April 1974 - I’m particularly looking forward to seeing this one. It’s my favourite BA scheme.

I'm really hoping that BA rests these beautiful commemorative 744s in an aviation museum or several museums when they've finished service.

Amen to THAT NEIL!! Think B.A should paint a THIRD of the rest of the fleet in BOAC, LANDOR and NEGUS colours each till they finally retire their 747s.

I think so too. Also think the anniversary should start from 1974 for British Airways. It's just not that clear or perhaps transparent how you trace it back 100 years
