Default A message from the moderator.

As many of you know I was recently placed in the role of moderator on this forum along with Arinmuk. I chose him as a co-moderator as his posts are always informative and he has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to models and internet security and inner workings. I wish I can say the same for me as I still suffer from computer illiteracy

Recently several banned members for life have resurfaced using other user ID names and are actively posting on this forum. I am faced with difficult decision as to whether to re-institute their life long ban or give them a second chance. It is very ironic as one of those who has resurfaced, I have had highly major issues with publicly aired on this forum in the past.

So as of now, I am going to let these individuals slide and give them a get out of jail card, however they are being closely monitored and should any posts deemed offensive or aggressive in nature be posted the individual's outcome will change.

I am also going to lock out existing threads which are only going to fuel the fire even more amongst a few. Yes I agree, there is frustration in former dealings of some of these members and yes there is bad blood and some people got burned, however I would suggest that those that have an issue with a former member or post that has been made that you pm that person or me directly and not air it out here.

Thank you!

Crownvic,

Good to hear there is adult supervision among the diecast "cloud". Will keep the electronic popcorn handy should old habits and personalities resurface.

Can we still post ridiculous comments just for fun? I've never been banned here, so I need to know my limitations.

As a new moderator Russ, you know you have the ability to ban the word: 'Rare'.

Now that is a great post! I do recall seeing some threads in the past were Crownvic took exception to the word 'rare', and I think at one point he started bringing up how steaks were being cooked! Cheers! T7

Glad things are under control now, if I see a suspicions guest, I always report them via the standard reporting method, dunno how accurate that is tho.
Also grats to arinmuk, glad to have you part of the DA.C moderation team as well

Finally this place will get the security it really needed., from a crippled forum to a better secured one

Understand you I do not.... funny you are not.

For your info... I have autism & dyslexia, such quotes you throw upon me I do not understand, 99% of the time I read that as insults to the face..
So could you please keep such useless pieces of text to yourself?

Such things activate my anxiety as well, in the following I unfriend & block such types.

Was that a bonafide serious rebuttal? If so, I'm sorry that you took it personally like that. I was being sarcastic, not insulting.

Before this stuff gets out of hand, which it seems is inevitable, 99% of the ****e that I say towards the members here is either compliments or valid questions/comments. The other 1% is vile hatred and deserved attacks. Skoosh or whatever your name is comes to mind as I write this. I don't know your past history here, and I don't, really don't want to. To my knowledge, he's the only dismember whose got me on his short list. And I hope it stays that way. That being said, I rather enjoy this forum. 1,000+ posts should give you that impression.

Any questions or concerns should be forwarded to my imaginary empath. His name is Keith.

@DC10Tony,

It's fine and thanks for your apology

Just don't use that on me in the future, it makes me confused resulting a humiliating and insulting effect on my mind.
For you it might be funny, but I find it very hard to see such things from text I do not understand and that reads apposed towards me.

In the end I tend to read people differently than others would normally read them, it's frustrating, but it is what it is on my behalf.
Also sorry for the numerous edits, I have a hard time wording such things as well, not much of a talker anyway, anxiety does such things.

I haven't really been an active member on this forum for some time, just lurking and making occasional comments (slowly going blind will do that for you, it takes me forever to type), but I wanted to say that I'm pleased Russell has stepped up to moderate, can't think of a better person to do so, very knowledgeable, personable and enthusiastic about the hobby, and will probably be a great and fair referee for the inevitable headbutting.

You are ALIVE! Yes, I agree with your comment about Crownvic on the moderator role; and you probably saw while you were in stealth mode that I had also lobbied for him for the role. Cheers! T7

Now that's pretty darn funny! Going to guess that's not a model from the Lexus lineup. Definitely not the LC 500 model! However, will assume that's all the DAC owners can fork $$ over to Crownvic at the moment. Hey if it will get him from point A to point B in style, and goes with the pink decor in Florida all the better IMO. T7
