This looks appealing.

The dark blue on Anniversary G-BNLY 747 appears to be distinctly lighter and bluer than that on the other two Landor 737s.
This is just some kind of artwork´s mistake and final model will have the original Landor dark blue belly, or this lighter shade of blue will be the correct shade of 747 G-BNLY Anniversary scheme?

Can anyone shed light on this?

My guess is that that will be the same.

Expensive month, between the BOAC retro, the BEA retro and these. The 737s will almost complete my BA 737 collection. I had donor models ready to go to make these 2, but now I won’t need to.

Oh, and the Negus 744 is still to come....

When posting imagery on an electronic outlet, such as the Internet, television, etc., there are many factors to consider:

• source material (images from same person/entity?)
• software used (Photoshop/MS Paint/Freeware?)
• color space (RGB/CMYK, and what their specific #values are on those scales)
• the generation of material (1st gen (original image), /2nd gen (copy of original), /3rd gen (copy of copy of original) and so on...) the more copies, the more degradation/artifacts/color inadequacies are inflicted on the image (especially compressed images such as .jpg/.jpeg)
• electronic display being used to see the images (though this is more relevant if you're using multiple monitors to see the separate images)
• monitor calibration/age (again more relevant to multiple monitors)
• was it the same artist creating each pre-production drawings?

and so on. So my educated guess would be that these will in fact be identical colors on the final products because every corporate entity that has a specific color(s) for their brand(s) is conscious of the need to have it/them consistent throughout their brand. Because that's usually the very first line of exposure to their brand from the public.

In other words: have no fear, young padawan.

I do have a question as to why there was a need to add city names to the 732s? I would love to get me a cute little baby Landor, but I try to stay away from additional artwork/words/etc., pasted on the original standard livery. Not being familiar with either Manchester or Birmingham, would I be judged for picking one over the other? (Not that I would even care)

I suppose I would pick Birmingham because I do know for a fact that Iron Maiden has played at Birmingham NEC.

But then there's the whole "Queen's English" vs the common English accents and how they identify what kind of Briton you are. Is that a thing? So would Manchester be more appropriate? Or the other way around? See how this can cause all sorts of problems?

Maybe I'll just keep my $80~90 bucks and use it for something else.....

First why do forum members criticisize colors being incorrect when it's an 'effing drawing!!!! It is starting to really hack me off!!

Second the two ba 737 releases shows 1/400 is becoming the poor relation to 1/200 WHy can't someone do these in 1/400 pleeezzeee!!!!

Love that BA Landor B747-436 there and her RB211's always a pretty sight, still I am hoping JC Wings or Gemini 200 will do the BOAC & BA Landor as well, I just prefer their wing mounting methods more, lesser seams etc.

Would be cool to see those B737-236's in action again. I remember they were very noisy when they were in service

Yes, forum members are often asking questions, Aviaction.

Its tragical, its unbearable, its distressing even for nice, easy, polite and gentle members as you, but its like this. I even tend to think that this is what forums are for. But seeing your friendly reply maybe I´m wrong.

For you own good - try to find out what does it mean "asking a question" and how does it differ from criticism. And where did you found any criticism in my question my dear?

If you are so annoyed, try to count to ten. take slow, deep breaths. Listen to soothing music. And again - try to find out the difference between question and criticism.

Live a Happy Life.

The real one is out. https://www.airliners.net/forum/view...=500#p21160255

Instead of the Royal Mail logo by the reg (as in the drawing), they went with the gold logo by the nose. Hope the model gets corrected before release.

I agree, I'm holding out in hopes JCW or GJ will release the 744s.

Or you could buy acetone-free nail polish remover and simply remove the names. There are photos on the Internet of both aircraft in Landor livery without the names.

Good idea, but one small move can make me cry. 😢

It's easy to do! If I can do it, anyone can. I once collected Danbury Mint 1:24 scale models and I had a 1961 Thunderbird Pace Car that I wanted to remove graphics from. It turned out beautifully. Dip a cotton swab in the nail polish remover, blot it so it's damp, then gently go over the graphic to be removed. Then take a damp paper towel or napkin and go over the area. It really is easy.

Thanks! I'm guessing that the paint underneath would survive unscathed.....

That is correct. It just removes the tampo printing.

Thanks for this info... I ordered one and will attempt this. If it fails, I'm sending you the invoice.

LMBO! Again, non-acetone nail polish remover. The key is to use the cotton swab when it's damp, not dripping wet. And just take it slowly. If you're really concerned about it dripping onto other areas, just mask off the area you're removing. But it really is quite easy.
