That's correct Jean Pierre

After a search on the net I found this info regarding

Eastern Air Lines Lockheed L-049 Constellation N86516 (c/n 2043)

I quote

"In 1956/57 Eastern leased ten Lockheed L-049 Constellations from TWA. One is seen above in
the picture from the Mike Sparkman collection. Although on short-term lease (six months or so) the
aircraft were all painted in full Eastern livery, although they retained the TWA white top, as opposed
to the all metal finish on their own L-649s which never were white topped."

I'd really like to see an 049 in the original Capital Airlines livery. Andrew, if you're reading this, please add this iconic livery to your queue.

Very interesting...never knew that lease occurred nor why they we white topped beauties. Old dogs can learn new random and insignificant pieces of data with which I will never be able to impress anybody with (if I can even remember that I know it)

To my knowledge TWA's 049's had the 4 in-line windows forward of the wing port side. The AC model we see shows the window line of a 649 or 749. Too bad about this detail otherwise I would be buying the model.

All the Connies made by Aeroclassics are superb, of course, I have a few of them, they are the best Constellations ever produced.

The nose landing gear is very nice, be careful it is VERY fragile.

If we go into a little more detail, the model produced by AC is a L 749.
The L 049 has different engine cowls and no stringers on the top of the fuselage.

As far as the engine cowls are concerned, the Old Western Model Constellation is a perfect base to make a L 049, to have a true L 049 you only have to remove the stringers on the fuselage.

That's what I did one one of my models to make an AF L 049, I also added a few things.
Check the engine cowls.

Ready to welcome more L749s, L 1049s and L 1649s ...

Jean Pierre.

I'm vaguely familiar with Connies, but far more so with the F27, C46, & DC8. All I can say is:

"Mr. Klein—stand up and take a bow. You knocked 'em out of the ballpark AGAIN. Bravo!"

What a beautiful array of models.
