Default New Arrival - ARD Caledonian A320

My new ARD Caledonian A320 arrived a couple of weeks ago, (ARD2076). It's a great little model. Unfortunately it took until now for me to get it out of the box to actually look at it. The right hand winglet was broken off (top and bottom).

Still - here it is, as I have not seen any other pictures posted.

The grey in the livery is much lighter than the prior Caledonian A320 (AV200?) with the Batman tail.

It is also lighter than my other Caledonian narrow-body - an Inflight LE 737-200

Here are all 3 together.

That makes the Caledonian fleet 5 strong - including the IF L-1011 at the back of this picture

- and the stunning Inflight LE/Small World 747

I am still on the lookout for the Skyline 757 and DC-10 in this livery - but nobody seems to ever have one for sale.... maybe this will jog a memory about a dusty box in an attic somewhere..

Enjoy!

Can the winglet be attached? Nice collection BTW.

Unfortunately - it was not even loose in the box - so no attachment possible.

Not sure about a replacement. ARD still has some available. I will email tomorrow, but they have been as responsive to email of late. I will probably just keep it and display at the back of a shelf. Fortunately, most of my models display with the right side to the back.

Absolutely fantastic collection, it brings back memories of this great airline. I have the A320 in order and I already have the inflight Tristar. The glaring hole in the fleet is the 757, I’ve been waiting for this to be released for what seems like forever.

I had no idea that there were 1:200 Caledonian 737 and 747’s , where did you get them from?

Thanks. The 747 and 737 shown above are one of a kind (or close) by Martin Beacom (Infligt LE/Small World) - both found on eBay several years ago. As to the availability of 737s and 757s - see below.

Don't blame you. It is a unicorn. Very lucky to have it.

There were 737s, 757s, Tristars and DC-10s also produced by Skyline back in the day. I have been searching for what seems like forever - but was able to snag a 737 and 757 from eBay last week. I paid more that I should, but what the heck. Quick (poorly lit) pictures below - better ones if I get time this weekend. Notice the yellow line on the Skyline stops short of the radome compared to the prior model, along with the wing bend that is sometimes common on these old Skyline models. Also notice how the yellow dips on the 757, which seems accurate to the 1:1.

All in all - very happy with these new arrivals.

Now - what about that elusive DC-10.... *someone* must have one to sell...

I am sure you should be able to replace this winglet.

Using a piece of plastic card or an expired credit card that will be appropriately shaped, with a file you only have to remove some metal at the wingtip (the thickness of the winglet) and glue the new winglet.

Of course, you will avoid the super glue which can cause some damage to the paint, but you know that ...

Great idea - never thought of that. Thanks for the tip.
