Default Air New Zealand 777-200 ZK-OKA Photos

Remember very well when that ANZ livery went into service, and the first planes with that livery landed at Frankfurt. Specially the 777-200 looked very good with that livery, so to me an all time classic.

Your pics are quite stunning! IIRC, JCW announced the All Black version of the 772 to follow this...

Lovey pics you have taken 747-400ERX and thanks for posting. This livery is known as the "Pacific Wave" livery and I think it just may well be the shortest livery applied in Air New Zealand's History. I need some confirmation across the big pond

I'm not sure of the official title, but it has been mentioned in different publications and known by many kiwis as the Canoe livery. Inspired by the tail of the Waka (Canoe/boat) that early Maori arrived in New Zealand on. This livery is my favorite, followed by the pacific wave livery. Unfortunately, many kiwis refer to the Pacific Wave livery as the Teal livery. It drives me insane as that Teal livery, was on T.E.A.L and was a teal cheat line. Anyways, there we go. As for the time frame that Air New Zealand had the twin Pacific Waves on the side of the fuselage, I am not sure. But..... I am 90% sure that it was the shortest lived livery style they have used. The waves were pulled off and the rest remained the same.

Thanks for the confirmation plane_madnz, that's what I thought on the shortest livery too of the Canoe livery. I have the new inflight IF742NZ0119PA on pre-order.This is my favorite livery of air New Zealand and Inflight please do another Air Zealand DC-10-30 maybe the last one they ordered ZK-NZR

I had the first release DC-10 from Inflight, but traded it for a NAC Viscount, in steel haha I was happy with that. Then I got the 3rd release I think, NZS. I have a 1/40 scale Air NZ Dc-10 as well, although that has seen better days. Something about the three holes that screams 70's 80's like no other. I would have liked to see them fly into the twin stripe livery that followed that one. Having the tail separately painted from the tea/green and blue stripes. Who knows, if they had kept them longer, one may have even made it into Pacific Wave livery. Now that would have been nice.
