Default What a fun month.... 9 new models!

This will drive you mileage members crazy. As some of you are aware, my collection criteria is pretty simple.... "If I have flown on it or touched it, it goes into my collection". There are some exceptions like adding the UPS planes that transport my surf boards, but I digress. I have done a fair amount of traveling (for me) this past month which gave me the opportunity to add to the collection. I made a concerted effort to find different airlines, aircraft and liveries. What I ended up with was nine new models. (It was actually 10, but I have not finished my Harbour Air DHC-3 Turboprop from Vancouver) I had previously flown on Southwest, but not in the new livery. I had also flown with Alaska, but not on the ERJ175 or Q400 and it was a treat to get the 737-900. The UA CRJ200 is actually cheating in that I have flown on them numerous times, but it showed up in the mail while I was out of town having flown on a UA CRJ200. Frontier is an interesting airline.... I had not flown on them since they became an ultra low cost airlines. Let's just say the plane was pretty! Best thrill... My first Dreamliner. What a treat! Here are the recent additions below:

I don't have any trips planned aside from our January trip to Oahu, but enjoyed sampling some different airlines. I am a Hawaiian Member as well as United, but it never hurts to see what else is out there. It might be time to start fleet building. Hmmmm..... haven't flown American since the 80's.

Congrats on adding another 9 models to your 1/200 collection. I commend you for your collecting criteria, which I also 95% stick to as well. That is great you were able to snag these models that you personally have some connection with, always makes a good conversation piece when you have visitors viewing your collection.

Fleet building can be dangerous, especially when certain manufacturers roll out the airline you are collecting with several models within weeks of eachother. But, all the best to you if you pursue this path of fleet building.

Have fun in Oahu in the new year! I'll be thinking of you while I freeze my butt off in the frigid temps of Canada. Winter is Coming! Cheers! T7

Thanks.... I can control the fleet building by reducing my travels. Can't remember exactly where you are, but we loved Vancouver! (Could never afford to live there, but it was nice to visit)
