Default 747 Cargo - freight diecasts

Morning Folks
I would like to pick the collective DAC brain ,does anyone here know if there
are any 1:200 747 Qantas specific Cargo/ freight diecasts around without getting
into the realms of customisation yet ? trying not to leave diecast but will if
the devil drives (Just my preference for diecast nothing against other materials)
Branching my modest collection to include Cargo carriers but staying with
"The Queen Of The Sky " domain

QANTAS never had a 747-400 freighter, although it was proposed. Qantas chose several 737F's and a 767F instead.

Fantasy models come out every now and then. I have a Qantas 747-400 freighter in 1:400 that I found on ebay. Its pretty cool, a tad too small for you though. I do like the "what if's". Customizing a diecast isn't a hard job I have heard. Just fiddly getting the decals correct. Worth buying a blank and giving it a go mate. Then you aren't moving away from diecast.

Following on from what Aussijets said, quite a few years ago, JC Wings made a 1/200 VF-EFR Qantas 767-300F in the original livery (all-red tail with no kangaroo and straight Qantas Freight titles on the fuselage). It's a bit rare nowadays but a nice model. I am hoping one day JC will re-release it in VH-EFR's current full Qantas scheme as that is very nice IMHO.

More recently, JC Wings also made a 1/200 Boeing 737-300F, VH-XML. Despite its diminutive size it's one of my favourites.

I don't know of any other releases, but there should be a few more available, as QF did a deal with StarTrack a while back for example.

Hope this helps,
Terence.

Afternoon folks
Thanks for the replies good to know there are some locals around here that appreciate the diecasts circulating "Downunder"

I may have to stray into the "Customisation Realm" as I will be staying with Diecasts especially 747s .Love that queen of the sky !!

These are the four diecast VH- registered freighters released so far that I know of. Not 747F's what you are after but very nice models if you are interested.
