Default Received my 6th Lufthansa 707

Dear all,

Received my sixth Lufthansa 707 yesterday (and 26th 707). I know about the mold and wing issues but I cannot help being a very big 707 fan so I love these models..Received my 6th Lufthansa 707-20180912_205152.jpg

If you have any questions about the models, please feel free to ask. How many 707/720 models from Lufthansa are there anyway? I know there's more then these six but how many?

Hi Baerke

Very nice collection of the Lufthansa B707/720's.
I have them all; great models even with those mould-issues.
How many there are I am not sure but the first one I bought was the IF200 B707 D-ABUH "Dortmund" back in 2005.Lovely models anyway.
Other releases were from Blue Box (several), Herpa (2), Aviation200 (several).
If I have some time to look into my collection this winter I will make a list.

Thank you Filip, that would be very nice! I reccon you are a big 707 fan too then. The first 1:200 707 I bought was the Sabena OO-SJJ in 2007. I saw the Dortmund in Inflights website database released in 2005. Very nice one.

Great aircraft, great models, great liveries.

You can be proud of them.

I also have six AF B 707s, two with the bar code livery and just like you, one of the early B 707s has a short tail, it's very nice to have this particular version in your collection.

No B 720 in the AF inventory.

Thank you Tom for sharing these pictures.

Jean Pierre.

Great collection Tom. My only DLH "707", is the B720. Wish I had room for more!

Thank you guys!

@Jean Pierre, I have the two Herpa Air France 707 in my collection. Are the other Air France 707's all inflight and is there a cargo version too?

@777-300, is the black nose 720 still available somewhere?

@snowghost, room is always an issue but luckily the 707's are not that big to squeeze in

Sorry Tom, what I wrote was a bit misleading.

I too have the two AF Herpa B 707s with the blue cheatline.

The four others are Inflight products, two with the blue cheatline and two with the barcode livery.
Two of them are freighters, I attach pictures.

A few other variants with the blue chatline could have been made to bring some diversity in the collection.

Unfortunately, Inflight is very busy preparing an AF B 727 with a livery which is completely wrong, see topic "Inflight Air France B 727 F-BOJD", bottom of the second page of this forum.
I am afraid that this model will be a flop.
There are still a few lessons they have to learn to make a good work.

I am sure that this model will be sold by Socatec on their online shop, a constructive dialogue with Socatec would have been the solution, something that I already tried in the past without any success.

Radio contact is lost with the AF museum too, no longer on the frequency ...

Mayday ...

Jean Pierre.

A bit off-topic, I know....but after seeing what Mr.Klein did with this mould ( I know its a 720, but look at that nose!) its difficult to go back to previous moulds by other manufacturers...nice collection though, Baerke. Still have my very first IF Pan American 707, white box edition!;-)

I got to fly on American, United (720), Continental, Air France, and BOAC 707s back in the day.

The last one I rode was Air France F-BHSY from LAX-ORY.

Yes I did. I flew the 707-328 , and 707-328B on some domestic French sectors by the mid- / end of the 70s . If I had been 20 years old in the 60s early 70s I would have spent more pocket money to fly her more and more .

It's a Blue Box (BBOX) model. Which is an Inflight offshoot.

Gents, it is very enjoyable to see these fine LH 707's. Although I have a lot of feelings for the AF 'Shark tail' livery (as JP showed us), the LH 707 fleet sported some of the finest of vintage livery's ever. Every single model is a gem. What a contrast to the newest LH branding....

cheers, VJ

Does yours have the belly antenna? It was a known issue they fall out easily. Mine did but my retailer got me a replacement.

Thank you for the pics Yustas. And VJ the vintage LH livery is indeed one of the finest. That said, the new livery is growing on me. The more I see it the better it gets imo.

Yup, you even get a kind of used to ugly things ;-)
Well, I do understand the rational thoughts behind the new LH branding. Because that is what it is: pure rational indeed. Thats maybe why we love the old jets and liveries: nothing rational, digitalized or optimized. But all designed and build from hearts and hands with hard labor. So, pls keep them coming' here on DA.C!

Thank You AussieJet ! By the way I saw the Herpa SABENA one in a famous shop in Paris : the model is pretty fine ! It is provided with both HF antennas and NO ventral sabilizer above the short tail . I would add a personal feeling : if the fuselage had been modeled with 1milimeter height thick less , it would have been the perfection

But if you are interested, the herpa 707-430 worths it

Great idea to produce these short tail B 707-320s or 420s.
I am very happy with mine.

True, the fuselage is a bit too fat, but the wing planform is correct.

Jean Pierre.

Hi Yustas, yes they did back in 2005. Never found this model though, was D-ABUH "Dortmund" a 707-330.

A rerelease would be very welcome!

I have the 2005 release IF200 Lufthansa B770-330 D-ABUH "Dortmund" in my collection.Very nice model indeed!

Different style of LUFTHANSA titles on the fuselage though (smaller titles in front of the fuselage).
I really would like to see the one on the postcard being released with the big style LH titles.Very nice classic livery!

I am a big fan of LH B-707's (and B-720's).

You are absoluty right Filip, didn't notice the difference at first. Don't know if this livery existed. The tail in the picture looks fake/ painted on or so.
