My rule of collecting 1:200s is they don't stay in the box.
With the addition of 4 Detolfs, I can now do that. Moreover, I display 1:200s in my media room, and a living room curio (top two shelves), along with two 1950s KLM travel agent models in the guest room.
I'm always moving planes around, but I think I'll stick with the displays as-is for a bit. Have a KLM CV-340 on preorder, as well as a BA 388, if they ever get them in again.
As an aside, the three DLHs on the coffee table are in order of LAX departures, LH457(A346), LH453 (A388), and LH451 (B748).
I Love all the photo's, however, all your older DC 7's Vickers Viscount, Comets, CV440's Caravelle's , and 707's BAC1-11 Armstrong Whitworth Argosy are quite something special and steel the show. Aviation history always is nice to see in fleets.Thank you very much for posting
I love what you have in your cabinets ... particularly the models of the 60s and 70s.
Very, very interesting.
Thank you for posting these pictures.
Jean Pierre.
Merci. Also gotta love the 50s. The Super Constellation, the Seven Seas, and one of my favorite models, a Herpa KLM DC-6B. And of course the beautiful Caravelle.
I was lucky enough as a kid to fly on Alitalia, Air France, Finnair and Swissair Caravelles.
Ooow what a very nice and diverse collection youve got there! Had to look several times to find out all the gems that are in those cabinets!
