Default Best 787 mold?

So I haven't been keeping myself up to date lately, and have a few models to catch up on. Some of them are 787s, and I am unsure which manufacturer is considered the best for the 787.

Any inputs are appreciated.

There are probably 2 or 3 former threads on this topic. Hit up the search option and you'll find several.

I prefer the Gemini/JC Wings 787, best quality overall. But, the new Inflight 787 is also very good. Phoenix makes a nice one also, but the wings sweep up a little too much, almost as if the plane is in flight.

Something else to note.....landing gear on Gemini/JC Wings 787 is removable, where on the Inflight and Phoenix the gear is fixed.

You mean the wings? Tilting up? The inflight does not, but the Phoenix does.

Obviously all the comments above relate to the 787-8's Inflight200 787-9's have not been released yet. If you want to know what Inflight's 787-9 is like you will have to wait a month or two. Qantas 787-9 in the launch model VH-ZNB is due soon.

I guess you could be asking about 787-10's too? Sure is a big open question B747forever. I am waiting to see what inflight's 787-9 is like that is for sure. Hoping gear is removable too it is new tooling after all.

The wingspan of the hogan 787 is too long.... it's as long as the 777.... also hogan has the stupid ultraflex inflight wings and the ground wings that are too straight.... so i would not consider the hogan 787 if you got another option....

I’d like to get that Norwegian 789 as well. Wonder how long until it comes out?

Don't know, but I am waiting on both the Norwegian 789 and 737-8MAX from Inflight.

I have both. I prefer the Inflight model mainly for landing gear and nose shape, and cockpit window printing.

JCW/GJ still has not fixed the main landing gear doors, which make the model look like it is tip toeing through high water. The cockpit printing is off also, particularly the shape of the rear cockpit window. Inflight has a much better shape.

Best mold? For me it's the Inflight model.

The only problem for me with Pacmin is no landing gear. I display most of my models on their landing gear without the stands.

Also not real crazy about the 'inflight' wings of the Pacmin model either.

But Charlie, THAT is the most beautiful aspect of a 787, those curved wings showing the beauty of flight ! ;-) am I right? Or am I right?! ;-)....if manufacturers make their models as we know them, with landing gears extended and curved wings ( flight mode) we might as well go for a in flight visual! And you know me and my threads about the 787, I have JCs, IFs, and Phoenix ( lets forget the nasty landing gears in them...but still my favorite mould among all diecast manufacturers!).

If you like inflight models on stands, Pacmin models are very nice. The preference for 'ground configuration' models is my choice, but a preference that I realize isn't shared by everyone.

One of its main characteristic and no doubt the most beautiful thing on a plane; curved wings, those structures sustaining all that weight and still giving lift to those beasts! ;-)No other aircraft shows this so well as the 787. If manufacturers could make those wings straight then landing gears make sense. If they are curved, for me, landing gears ruin the whole thing. Charlie Alpha, You know me and all the threads about the 787 I posted here, started with Phoenix ( still my favorite 787 mould) JCs and IFs...I even posted something showing how to "upgrade" those thin wheels which looked so bad. No manufacturer paid that much attention to landing gears, anyway, and these models still are way too close to the ground, engines almost rubbing the base where they stand. Thats why for some models ( 787) its best to have them "flying" rather than displaying on ground. This is my sole opinion.

Charlie, dont take me wrong, im sure all of us like to show our models on ground, otherwise, how could we show off all the GSE vehicles in order to have that look of a busy turn around??,;-)
Im with you on this one...and guess what, in spite of all the bells and whistles added to models these days, I am still in love with the old birds, no curved wings, huge gaps everywhere, no flaps extended, no tampo printing, no antenas, no jewel lights, no rolling rubber tires, ...some even come with a screw underneath, hard to believe people would actually buy them right??,... right! ..but how cool do they still look today he?!

Ah, the hours I would spend getting these ready for photographing....good old days.
