Default GARUDA INDONESIA 737 MAX 8 by JCW

Well it seems like a long time ago, JCW announced Garuda Indonesia's first 737MAX 8 model XX2064 - registration PK-GDA. It comes with a nice solid display stand that you will need to screw the base of the stand to the model support. Over all, a very nice highly detailed model. The only one thing I will say that is a bit disappointing, is that the gear is fixed (glued) and you not have no choice of gear up display options available to you unlike the 737-800 series. Some pictures will have a 737-800 (Aviation200 part number AV2738026 rego PK-GMA) to compare winglets. Here are the pictures for you I hope you like.

Hi Steve, a very nice addition to your collection. Last year we were privileged to have Boeing base their 737-8 Max in Darwin for flight trials. Rego was N8704Q,
MSN 1A004. Looking at your model, it comes pretty close to the real thing. The one that stands out with the real aircraft is how high the front wheel strut sits compared to the original 737-800. The engineers love it because there's more room for them. Thanks for posting.

The fixed gear kind of stinks but overall it looks great. I just got the shipping notification on mine. Unfortunately I'm going away so I'll have to have the Post Office hold it until next week. Can't wait to get it.... We've waited long enough for this one!

Looks great. I don't mind the fixed gear any more. There's a few models in my collection where changeable gears are a poor fit and I ended up gluing them fixed anyway.

Agree. The GJ 737s with magnetic gear are not that great. But that JCW stand for the Max is million times better than what GJ ships with theirs.

I bought a wooden Gemini stand for my Air Canada Max to replace that POS tripod.

Thanks for posting the pics. Good stuff.

You are welcome. I do mind that the gear is fixed and a step backwards in my opinion. Don't have a problem with any magnetic gear at all though I understand your preference. I do hope that GJ has decided that the Poseidon is not following this backwards trend. Freedom of choice versus cost savings in manufacturing.
