Default Some DC-10s ~ Pic Heavy

I just like these darn planes. They’re raw, and big, and bulky. Very industrial looking. The DC-10 is the pitbull of the airfield. And man.. I heard that pilots would just rocket around in these things when they where cargo empty. How fun!!

Anyways, bad pictures here ya go!

I love your AA DC-10-10/30 fleet. A pity the first edition of the 10-10 had some tarnishing issues. I love the engines on the first release.
That Eastern and Nortwest Orient look stunning.
Thank you for the pictures.

I’d trade ‘em all for 10 minutes behind the controls of anything you’ve flown!

Thanks!! Wouldn’t a re/do of the NWO be fantastic?! It’s a victim of tarnish (same as the AA dash 10) and the red is deeep.

If the angle is just right, in one of those pictures I believe you can spot the Inflight A300 that I purchased from you a long time ago! Sorry, the Herpa Premuim took center billing on that shelf

That's one impressive fleet you have there Sean! I particularly like the almost head on shot of all of them flying in tight formation

The only problem I see is you'll need a bigger table soon.

Thanks for the words For better or for worse, I’ll get a bigger table before there’s a collection downsize

There’s a few more DC-10s out there that I have my eyes on. Hawaiian, Korean, United Saul Bass small titles, FedEx.. Maybe if I have enough model stands I can squeeze more out of the current real estate, huh..

I love that Saul Bass large title. I really wish I had picked it up a couple years ago when it was released. Very hard to find now at a reasonable price.

I second that request.
Completely forgot about the A300. Is the nose ok? That was my first surgery. Lol.
The Herpa Premium is just perfect...is definitely a gem in your AA collection. Some day I'll buy one somehow.

My, seriously!!
I just got the AA DC-10-10 from a fellow DACer, not so badly tarnished (he warned me about the tarnishing). As I said in another post, It gave it character, a natural metal weathering that we see with the real ones (or something that Brad Shinn would recreate). Thanks for posting these impressve collection.

Lovely collection and thank you for posting. Envious and drooling about the 744, DC10, and 733. I only have the first 742 and the YS11 for now. Does your 727 suffer from bubbling/Zinc rot? Majority of Philippine collectors’ 721s suffered. Hope yours is in a good condition. Regards

Great collection. Amazing how the different liveries make the DC-10 nose look different. Compare the Delta widget with the NW bowling shoe. The old livery PAL 747s are good looking too. I had not seen those before.

Very nice! I wish IF200 would retool the DC-10. The seams in the engine cowlings are quite annoying, the oversized landing gear, and the front end cockpit printing/nose shape really don't make this the best looking -10.

Either way, die hard fan of the MD, just hope for improvements.

Agree with you on that.. herpa made a much better DC10 imo allthough it is plastic and the mold hasn't been used for quite some time now..

The cool tarmac piece was included with the Eastern DC-10. I don’t think I’ve receieved another model where it was included

For real! Solid color, cheatline, or bare metal...it’s all unique!

When I read “727 suffer” my mind raced as there is so much suffering with Inflight’s 727’s haha. I snapped a shot of the belly, thinking first of tarnishing issues. Then I re-read your post and saw that you were asking about bubbling. Unfortunately that’s also a Gemini problem too.. I’ll grab a picture soon of the top wings and post it here too. Good news...the metal finish looks good

Very nice collection of Douglas DC-10's there man, many thanks for sharing!
The 10 Tanker Air Carrier, the Hawaiian, Delta, Northwest (Classic) & Eastern Airlines DC-10's would be my favorites here.

As most know me here, every time I see a B747 they will always win it for me i the end
But hey, at least everyone has their favorites that way, right
