Default Help with tail heavy JCW 747

Just received QANTAS "Wunala Dreaming" today, and it won't sit flush with the gear in. Tips slightly backwards.

This is the first time I've encountered this with any metal model. Any advice from those that rectified a tail heavy bird?

Turns out the fuselage bogies weren't protruding out far enough. A bit of earthquake putty so they contact the ground and voila.

Nice one! I have the JCW Singapore "Tropical" which sat extremely CoG aft. I was able to fix it by placing some foil spacers into the mains bay and raising them up a little. Though the only downside is they drop out every now and then when lifting the model for cleaning ect...

You could also check the wing mounted landing gear. they fit in either wing, but if you put them in the wrong side, the model sits slightly nose high like yours is doing. Look for the small notch on the inside base of the landing gear and match it to the gear well on the wing. Most of the time, that will correct the problem.

JCW could have done a little better job with the design of the landing gear base so it wouldn't fit in the wrong way, but at least the fix is simple.

I have the same issue with my Gemini British Airways A380. Strangely enough though it doesn't affect the other Gemini A380's that I have.

Wow Chris that was the fix. Reversed the wing gear, took the putty out of the fuselage gear wells, and all is fine now.

Thanks for you input!

Glad to help and happy that was the problem. Figured I would pass the information along since someone here on the forum posted the fix when I first had the same problem.
