Default JCW Alitalia 777-3Q8ER - New Livery

Hi All!

Just wanted to share some pics of my newest arrival from JC Wings. Been anxiously awaiting this one since its announcement. I took a couple shots with my other Alitalia jets in the new livery as well.

Overall, I really love the model and the new livery, but I feel like JCW kinda missed the mark with the paint as it doesn't quite match the pearlescence of their previous release with the A330. Which is kinda odd, since their previous attempt matched beautifully with Gemini's release of the A320 in Alitalia's new livery. In the end, I am still pleased with my purchase and will look great net to the rest of my Alitalia fleet. I will hope to post more pics of the entire fleet some time soon.

One added bonus I saw with this release is the new information they printed on the back of the box. I added a pic of that as well.

Hope you enjoy

What is the small 'U' shaped object hanging down from area around the main gear door in the 3rd picture?

Not 100% sure, but I believe that is more than likely just a glare from where I took the picture. Looked at the model just to double check, and there isn't anything there, so probably just that.

So it has no pearlescent colour or the pearlescent is different from the previous releases.

Love your floor boards btw

Pretty much, unfortunately. The pearlescent is either very lightly sprayed or almost non-existant from what I could tell. This is pretty important IMO, since it is supposed to contrast the diagonal white lines toward the vert stab. So hard to understand since they did such a great job with the A330. Such is life I guess

And thank you about my flooring!! Fell in love with it when I saw it

Glad you can enjoy the model enough to ignore its defects... The 777 series have the too tall landing gear and poor nose shape. Unfortunately I avoid most of JC/GJ's models lately because they look more and more like cheap toys.

J. Jasinski,
That's what I find about Inflight. Expensive Toys that don't look the real thing they represent. I say this because I have the luxury to visit a model shop here in The Netherlands and can inspect the models in person, instead of pictures on the internet. All of the Inflight modern planes (B777, B787, A330) are less accurate then JC Wings in my opinion. Only the A320 looks good. I have two classic Inflights, B743 and DC-10 and both look horrible but there's no alternative on the market in metal.

But hey I am a minority here on DA.C. which has become a Inflight lovefest.

Mine should arrive in a week or so. Looks great even if the colors are slightly off!

I've had mine for several weeks. When I first opened the box it definitely is whiter then the sister A330 by JC and the A320 by Gemini. I have googled images of the real deal and in some cases it definitely looks lighter almost white than the others, but it may be light related.

I'll never understand why an airline decides to repaint its entire fleet when it's constantly threatened by bankruptcy...

As opposed to what, the JCW Cult that it used to be aggressively here?

With small cockpit windows and odd shaped noses lately, I have to agree with Jan. Inflight has set a mew standard with their A320/A33o models. Even their 777/787 models look better and are my choice for those types too. That being said, I do have a few older JCW 777 and 787 models that don't feature the new landing gear in my collection that are nice also. Just not quite as nice.

I really think it all comes down to personal preference and which element of a model is important to you, like cockpit, engines, nose shape, ect.. But as always. Buy what you like. Enjoy what you buy.

C.A.

You are right. The JC "Cult" are indeed gone, to bad. At least they are still in business and producing models I prefer.
You must be happy because Inflight together with Jfox and ARD200 are pumping out models like crazy.

I do enjoy what I buy.
Thanks

I was thinking the same thing but I fly a lot and I've been looking closely when taxiing around at the airport and I'm just not sure about that anymore - the 773 does seem to have a long front landing gear in real-life.
