Default Ac crj705

Received this lovely model in today. It's an awesome model, but it reeks of cigarette and is covered in a brown stain! Is there any way to safely remove it? I tried to get it off with a tissue, paper towel, and even my nails. I think it may have to do with the cigarette smell. The box is worse, though. Especially the foam. Seller didn't mention the stains at all, just a weird antenna. The worst of it is on the tail. It only seems to be on the top of the model. I was able to get a little bit off, but the rest won't budge. I don't want to ruin the decals by using some kind of soap.
Bonus photo if my CRBaes. I want to get another -200 so I can do a bowling shoe nwa custom. I thought about getting another -700 but nwa never had them. It'd be the last type I need to complete my bowling shoe collection

I used window cleaner when I received a stained model once. It worked great.

You won't ruin the model's tampo printing by using a mild soapy damp cloth - just watch out for the antennas/wheels as they will snag on the cloth - and don't forcefully rub the printing.

I do that all the time when removing the greasy feel of new models.

Politely disagree. I wouldn't recommend anything with a chemical that is a solvent or ammonia.

I don't know what kind of aggressive window cleaner you use, but my window cleaner only contains surfactans.

Did it come from Quebec by any chance?

Again politely disagree. :-)

I'm not sure what you use but in general - window cleaner here in North America has lots of chemicals that might fade, discolour or dissolve painted surfaces.

"Windex" is our most common brand.

"Windex's ingredients as water, 2-hexoxyethanol, isopropanolamine, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, lauramine oxide, ammonium hydroxide, fragrance, and Liquitint sky blue dye."

So when you say window cleaner - most people here would think - regular window cleaner.

More chemicals - the American way!

This stuff works great! Most of the folks on here will tell you I'm crazy, but they're simply applying it wrong. Get a large mixing bowl, mix 2 to 1, and soak for 30 minutes. Brown stains and smell=GONE! Give it a try!

I use Plexus plastic polish or a small amount of liquid car wax,, works like a charm. Small amounts, careful not to snag the cloth, cotton swabs for tight areas.

Acetone will definitely get the brown spots off, and the tampo printing, and the paint
