I still remember you from the 777 decal sheets. Weren’t you involved with the Aero le Plane Egypt air 777 release as well? Back then when hogan and Herpa where the main players...

Still here too. Have a few Hogan 777-300ERs with your detail decals on them. I think my first 1/200 metal diecast model was the first release of the Gemini Southwest 737. I still have one of the original mold JCW ANA 777-300 too, with the silver wheel rims and the generic engines.

It has been a lot of fun.

Its hard to say, as quite a few long-timers had there accounts wiped out last year and had to re-register as new members.

Good to see so many old timers still active. And some of you still own my work!! Thats just also amazing.

These days im only collecting large scale models and only have 5 or so of them. My 1:200 eva air fleet is mostly gone as well as all my hundreds of 1:200 scaled models. It was really good times however during the hay-day. All those arguments we had, name calling, bashing, haha!

The definition of old will varying from people to people but I would consider old personally to be the times before the diecast metal craze and when inflight200 was the only novelty with few selections/choices to be had. When the diecast metal craze hit years back, thats when i personally started disappearing as there were declining discussions here on DAC about plastic and buying models fully built just wasnt as fun as taking a less detailed plastic model and customizing it.

All true... you definitely began to drop off the radar screen when diecast started to get popular in 200 scale, but remember this is a diecast aircraft forum! Always enjoyed your custom stuff..

partially true, but there were barely any diecast back when this forum in 1:200 was started =). 1:400 was where it was at. Now that its all diecast, the forum now (and finally) lives up to its name.

This is such an interesting development. Completely contrary to model railroading, metal has become the synonym for quality and details. In model railroading everything metal from manufacturers like Märklin is considered to be outdated, worse than plastic etc...

This hobby? People freak out over metal while an accurate plastic model is way ahead of its metal counterpart. But hey, metal is the new god. Let's worship him...

Funny how that works isnt it? I've belabored this point too much in the past to have any breath to continue the argument. Let $ rule and ill just quit the hobby haha.

still have my model railroad stuff though. lovely plastic pieces

No. Not sarcasm. My daughter has no more interest in collecting. I do but want to sell off some of them due to other reasons I prefer to not get into

There have been lots of improvements over the years. Some of the old plastic models are still very good. The big thing that the diecast models brought is more accurate and more detailed tampo printing, which really raised the printed standard and detail level.

But despite all of this, i still have some plastic in my collection too. It can be quite nice with some added details, including some with the last 777-300 detail sheets that I bought from you.

If you look at Herpas A320s I think it’s as good as it gets. Antennas and even the drain rails over the doors are molded, something that is not possible in diecast.

Well I tried to get it lively again by arguing, name calling, and bashing, but got suspended a couple of times and received a final warning. I was a lurker during the early days. I mostly read posts and kept track of my collection. Occasionally, I would buy on the for sale section and had popcorn and a coke watching the festivities/mudslinging.

I've got beyond my 3 x score + 10, but bits of my body are slower than before (even the brain sometimes doh! Pruning some jets but keeping the props. Can even see the detailing on the 200 scale tampo print if I remember where I put my glasses.

I'm still lurking here now and then. I've got just about every model I wanted and am starting to sell a lot of them (over collected lol). I've reached the point where I want to keep primarily the aircraft/liveries I've flown on. When good retro stuff comes out that's relevant I snatch it up quickly (like the new Western Models/Aerclassics 200 stuff including the recent Mohawk FH-227). I'm still waiting for them to release a United Mainliner DC-8.

other than a few n scale trains, which i dont actively collect anymore either, nothing much really. Learning that all these collections become money-losing, space eating, junk one day so trying to rid myself of any sort of collections and not start any new ones .

Never noticed the planes emitting fumes. Thought it was the dog.
