Thumbs down Received 3 models today, all 3 damaged

First and this one really bums me out bad

Cathay Pacific 747-8F Hong Kong Trader XX2793

Pick up the box, I hear a bunch of loose pieces, so not a good sign. Open the box and first thing I notice is two engines are torn off. Then I notice one of the elevator was torn loose. Pick it up and I see the tail, all scratched up really bad. Looks like the loose elevator completely scratched up the tail during shipping. This model is long gone so SOL. Not sure what to do with this one, ask for refund from Ebay/Paypal or what. Suggestions?

Next one i got the Gemini Aeroflot 737-800. Nose wheel bay doors and the nose gear are loose. Looks like there are 2 notches on the plastic gear one of them broke off. I guess it will be alright after I glue it in.

Finally Gemini BA 787-8. Looks like there is a paint defect under the gloss finish on the top side of the fuselage, looks bad.

What a bummer.

Any suggestions for best glue to use for re-attaching ripped off engines, tails, gears, etc?

Assuming these models were bought domestically I would send them straight back from where they came from and ask for a full refund. Fiddling around with models that have already suffered from paint damages doesn't lead anywhere. They stay damaged.
Good luck!

if they are too expensive to return, I would try and get at least a part refund!. as for glue a gel based one may be better.

Use paypal to lodge a dispute noting the item was not as advertised. Paypal is very good a protecting buyers

Really sorry sir, hope that the fixing operations won't be too expensive but above all I wish 4 a great outcome.
I do suspect that the handing operations of the boxes/parcels have been done in the worse and unprofessionally way.

Open a dispute via ebay & PayPal both give great coverage on such cases make sure you sue these photo's as evidence to prove ebay & PayPal that you were sold items that were sold not as advertised just as craigme explained.

If you didn't buy these via ebay just open a dispute via PayPal's resolution center that will do just fine, it may take up some time but you deserve a full refund even without the need of returning the items, I have had this with serveral motherboards for my retro computers, had a motherboard that was defective and capacitors leaking I took pics of it and Ididn't need to return the item but I did get a full refund after providing PayPal the evidence of the damage product that was sold to me at that time.

A shame this still happens I really hope you can get this sorted out.

Yeah regarding the Hong Kong Trader I dont think there was malicious intent on the sellers part. Shipping destroyed this product. It was packed well with bubble wrap, fragile sticker, etc. But shipping must have thrown this 50ft in the air and hit it with a baseball bat just for fun. The model would have been fine if the elevator didn't snap off and scratch the tail horribly.

Also this was expensive shipping, from China to my doorstep in 4 days.

What is crummy with these sold out model, there is nothing you can do for a replacement you're just stuck with a disfigured model...shame really because it's a beauty otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestions, we will see how this goes with ebay/paypal. They do say that items are covered due to damage through shipping.

Still I would try to solve this via ebay & Paypal you paid for models without damage yet you get the opposite even if the seller is not to blame you paid for the highest shipping and still you get the negative result I'd do everything in my power to get my money back seller or not as the cause goes. Lost money is still lost, ya know what I mean?

These are important issues, I hope all goes well.

Dont worry about the seller. If the items were damaged during ahipping then the seller can lodge a claim against the carrier. Your contract was with the seller.

Sorry to see the above pictures. My JCW 748 arrive with a loose engine and elevator too, but at least I was lucky and didn't have any damage.
Sadly I am getting used to finding loose parts rolling around in any new model box I open.

I'm so leery of buying models that require shipping these days, that I've stopped completely. I only buy models in-person from local stores. Fortunately, I live in a city with 2 great stores that are amazing at customer service. A few weeks ago the G200 BA 757 World Tail I ordered arrived. Normally I pull it out of the foam and sit it down to check them out (had a bad experience with an old colour AC 787-9 that had engines that sat on the ground) but since it was a busy Saturday I just took a quick look and she seemed fine. Back at home I pulled her out and the stem connecting the landing gear housing and wheels fell out into the foam. I took her back and exchanged it for another, but this time i pulled it out at the store. The rear elevator fell off in front of the store owner. They got another one and that one was fine. If that was shipped, it would have been a pain in the butt. On my second AC 789 I went through 3 planes before I found one that didn't rest it's engines on the ground with the gears in. I feel for the guys who don't have a store option.
