Default Buying, Trading, Selling. Why is there not a Feedback area on here?

As someone who has had several transactions in the almost four years I have been a member on here, I find it odd that there is not a area for Feedback on who to and not to deal with.

In the several Model Horse Forums I belong to, we have this. So why not put one on DAC?

I can name MANY wonderful people that I have both bought from and sold to and several not so wonderful people.

Could you imagine the binfest if there was! He said, she said arguments, rivet counters giving grief because of a minor crease in the box, mugs just putting negative feed back because they can. It's hard enough to get a moderator to do anything on here as it is, without them having to police that aspect of it as well.

Saying that it would produce some proper popcorn viewing arguments, so let's go for it!

Seriously I think it would be a good idea. It works for eBay doesn't it?
I have a few models I am going to put up for sale, and I would be happy to have some good comments for people to see (I hope) so other buyers might take an interest in my offerings.

Maybe if you happy with how the deal went leave a message on the profile of the user. That way others could check.

check my signature, that's the best way I have found to promote good sellers. I haven't sold models on here but if I did and had good experiences with a buyer I would list them the same way.

Maybe I am living in the 1950's? I like to think the vast majority of people are honest and trustworthy. Obviously,a few exceptions exist. That is the point of this suggestion.

Good idea, but once a negative feedback post is posted that Dacer will probably disappear and not return, just like that piece of crap on the 200 scale models for sale/trade forum right now did who ripped a few people off..

Okay here goes my Feedback.

On the Model Horse forum we do it as Green, Yellow and Red Lights.

My Greens on here are (These are people I have bought from, not sold to)

Crownvic, Widebody, T7Forever(Sorry if I mispelled that), Kitthhawk1903, Iran4ever, Johan Chan (forgot his profile), Kelso49, and several others my brain has forgotten.

Only posting the Bought from people.

Probably not a bad idea in theory, but not sure how you would police the comments to ensure they were accurate. It does have the potential to trash someone who you just disagree with on a post on the forum.

That being said, if this section is started up, you could also include BUYERS who have run you through many hoops and ask you to hold the model, only to NOT buy it in the end. I guess it would have to be a 2 way street. It would however be entertaining to read some of the back and forth comments from warring parties over a sale that went bad!

We have it on the watch forum and it works exceptionally well. It only deals with transactions and nothing else.

Thanks for mentioning me Leslie. That was some time ago now. I am glad you were happy with my offerings at the time.

Well, I knew it was bound to happen. A Model I shipped via my Mailing service arrived damaged according to the buyer. When I sent the model, I went over it with a fine tooth comb and packed it very well like I always do. He sent me photos of the wing that separated from the body of the model. Also, one of the wingtip antennas was missing, NOT in the box, according to the buyer. The model was sent with ALL antennas intact. Where is it then? I cannot see an Antenna disappearing into thin air?

Anyways, I am going to open a claim with my Shipping service tomorrow since the model was fully insured although the buyer wants a full refund now. I cannot even do that, Sigh

He needs to ship the model back to you at his expense before anything else happens. DO NOT refund until you receive the model.

In the mean time, file your claim. That buys you a little time.

Do not worry, I am NOT going to refund him. I told him I will be in touch with the carrier tomorrow and we can go from there. I will keep you all posted

Did he send pics of this damage? I would want to see them. I always take good photos before something ships. I had a buyer last week that had a horizontal tail section come loose when it was shipped. It was fine when I sent it. He reglued it and all was well. Can’t see how an entire wing could have separated in shipping.

I'd be careful he or she is not trying to return a broken model they bought elsewhere, that seems to be very common these days.

If you are 100% certain that all antennas were on the model and the shipping box was not tampered with by customs or postal services, I'd call BS on this one, antennas don't just magically escape the box just because a wing fell off, again abit sketchy if you packed it well.

If you documented the photos, get him to claim postal insurance, you shouldn't have to accept a return for a model you packed well and in good condition, if he's legit, he'll take the insurance $

The sucky thing is that as the seller in eBay, you can't leave negative feedback for dishonest buyers.

I've encountered these sorts of issues when selling on eBay so I bought some UV markers to leave a little 'signature' in case anyone tries to swap anything. I'm not sure if those markers would damage the paint on these models but I thought I'd throw my idea into the ring

Kind regards,

Thumbs up Re: Buying, Trading, Selling. Why is there not a F

I've sold to about 4 people here over my years here on DA.C. Two were really nice experiences with feedback on how the model arrived, etc. But two just 'disappeared' into the wind. No reply as to whether they even got the model. In both cases the buyers opted for the cheapest shipping with zero tracking, etc., so if something DID go bump in the night (lost shipment, damaged package, etc.), they'd kinda be screwed. My follow-up emails also seemed to be ignored. Hmmmm . . . peculiar.

That said, the two I DID sell to, I'd certainly consider selling to again, should the situation arise. Premium folks. One of you here knows who you are.
