Default Herpa Limited Edition Lufthansa A321-100

Newest addition to the fleet.

It's a very nice rendition of the Airbus A321--and a great tribute to the bird on Lufthansa's tails.

GREAT looking A321!

I need to start look more closely at the Herpa A320 family.

Nice model. It's resin/plastic right!?
Overall the model looks great. I'm sorry, I don't want to spoil your joy, but something about that nose section that looks a little bit off. Perhaps is the angle of the picture

It's plastic.

Personally, I have no problem with the nose of Herpa made A 320s / 321s.
Good from any angle.

Maybe you are just used to the JCW/GJ A320 series noses, which really are way off?

To me, this looks like one of the best A321 noses that I have seen. Shape of the nose and nose gear seem right on to me, and much better than most other A321 models that I have seen.

... apart from the wingtip fences which are horrible on the Herpa A320 family aircraft compared to the otherwise excellent moulding.

Dang, that Buy It Now is an extremely good price!

On the subject of 1:200 little Airbuses, can somebody recommend a Lufthansa A319?

Agree with all of you that Herpa makes really good A319/320/321. Have the Lufthansa A321 on short final (arrived, however not unpacked).

Herpa did only two versions of the Lufthansa A319, the Lufthansa Italia and the LU. The Italia is sometimes available on German eBay and is priced quite reasonable. The Lu commands higher prices if it ever shows up. I like the Italia version, very nice, although the white has a bit faded and it sits a bit low to the ground.

I think I agree with you! It is not exactly the nose section which is wrong, but theres something utterly strange with
the cockpit windows..., the shape and placing. I have held several Herpa A320 series in my hands, but never bought one
because of this. To me the GJ/JC Wings A320 series gives me that Airbus feeling, the Herpas somehow doesn't..

This is just my opinion though.

I have a Gemini Air France A321 as well. I like them both.

As an aside, how'd you get your screen name? I flew on D-AIHB from MUC-LAX. Cool plane.

Thats cool, the best is to like them both!

Thanks for asking, and then we have been flying on the same plane! The story goes like this: My initials are HB. And quite some years ago,
I think maybe in 2007 I was flying from Frankfurt to Seoul. At our gate I saw my A346 standing there ready, and at first glance it looked like
D-AIHB, and I thought to myself, wow - thats nice, my initials, a bit cool... But I was wrong, the aircraft standing there was D-AIHD...
But, three weeks later at Incheon Seoul, on my way back to Frankfurt; there she suddenly was - D-AIHB. And that day I wore a dark blue
T-shirt with Lufthansa written on the front. And you know the crew was really so gentle and kind to me because of this T shirt, and they kept
asking if there was anything they could do for me.., anything I wanted etc etc. I became a bit embarrassed and said, ´well thanks I am just happy
to be here on an LH A346 thats more than enough for me.. etc´. But then after landing in Frankfurt the crew came back to me with a surprise
gift, they gave me all the maps from the cockpit, from D-AIHB´s flight that day from FRA-ICN-FRA. Where you could see all the checkpoints and
what the pilots had been writing on them. Very nice done indeed. I still wear that T-Shirt sometimes when i fly with Lufthansa.

About a year later I became a DAC member, and D-AIHB became somehow and appropriate screen/avatar name :-)
(I am also half German/half Norwegian so it´s also natural for me with a German reg name as screen name as well).

Maybe there should be thread about how everyone got their screen names.

Harald

Great story! My father worked for KLM many years, so we flew them a lot growing up.

As an adult most of my trips are to Bavaria and Austria, so I gravitated to flying Lufthansa. I'm half German and half Dutch, so it's all good

Coming back to that A321 model, LUFTHANSA made a big mistake this year

Just after removing this stickers from the aircraft they canceled their involvement of over 25 years in "Crane Protection"

As you can imagine the reaction of the German public was a disaster for LH (see here)

Geldmangel: Lufthansa-Rückzug bringt Kranichschutz in Not | aeroTELEGRAPH

After this destructive image act they are now rethinking their strategy (see here)

The A380 is Phoenix. I also have the Gemini one. Not sure how good the Herpa 380s are not ever having seen one in person.
