Not sure if they are seriously considering re-releasing anything or if this is just to boost activity on their page.

Those 757 re-releases would be great, but they wouldn't be on nearly as good of molds. Those original 757 molds were so great, they would almost have to bring those back for them to be worth while.

I'm not really in need of any re-releases, but if I had to pick one right now I would probably say the AA 727. Such a perfect model. Sold mine a while back and it brought some serious money on eBay. Wouldn't mind having that one again.

I would also take the AA 727 as mine is tarnished. Would also like the DL 767 Spirit of Delta too. Will put my 2 cents on their Facebook page this weekend.

My vote would go for the Delta widget blacknose 722 (g2DAL106). those suckers are hard to find and very $$$ if you do find one.

And while your at it, how bout a Panam 741 in 70s livery on that new mould.

My answer is I hope any or hopefully ALL of the narrow body models listed on Gemini's Facebook page will be re-released.

If I had to pick one, it would be the AA 757. My least favorite, and the one that In don't care if it is re-released, is the Thai A380.

I’m surprised they’re asking about re-releases when there’s so many other models they could produce. AA 727-200 and AA F-100, please. Although I do like original, first releases, too.

Yeah... I'd say it's a little of both. But I think most company Facebook pages just ask questions to boost activity so guys, don't hold your breath waiting for these re-releases. Then if they do release some, its a bonus

Not a re release, a new model using an existing mold.

An Air France DC 3, with the 1946 livery, bare aluminum, no white top, small AF tittles …

This was my choice on Facebook. But I wasn't clear whether they were asking people to choose from the four models shown in the photos or if they were asking for suggestions from any of their 1:200 releases.

GJ clearly stated any 1/200, not just the 4 pictured;

GeminiJets No, ANY Gemini200 release. Your choice does *NOT* have to be one of the four pictured.

I cannot understand the overwhelming demand for the two 757s over the classic workhorse 727.... but maybe that's just me...

I'd have to go for Delta widget 757 and 767s personally.

I wouldn't mind the Delta L-1011-500 rereleased to the same standard as the Pan Am release as well.

I have to say, I would also love to see Britannia 767-200/300 and also BA Landor 767 and 777...ok, these aren't rereleases, but they do represent a gaping hole in my collection!

I have a few sold out models on my wishlist i would love to see released again. CRJ900 SAS, Delta 767-300WL (current livery), Southwest 737-700 (desert sand), Frontier a319 (oc) and the 757-200 delta skyteam.

If i could choose only one of them it would be the SAS.

American B727 and Delta widget B757 are obvious. I think we are good for Emirates.

Agree. AA B-757-223 in the bare metal, scissor eagle scheme (no winglets). Also, the AA B-727-223A and MD80 in the same scheme (mine are tarnished).

This is exactly why I have no desire for a polished model and would rather see the Delta Widget 722 . I am still so pissed over the AA CV 990 i was so excited about when announced by IF. now it is one big tarnished paperweight. No more polished models for me with the poor quality these diecast companies are putting out for the price!

I know what you mean. I have some polished models that look great more than two years after delivery. Others (including GJ's MD80) are now worthless.

It seems to me that manufacturing processes are the key. (And, possibly, the materials used to pack polished models for shipping.)

We had a thread on that topic (something like 12-18 months ago) from a guy who seemed very knowledgeable about the tarnishing problem and its causes, as well as corrective actions that manufacturers could take to prevent it. (It didn't seem like an insoluble problem, based on what I remember from that thread.)

Isn't our collecting hobby all about making up decisions and picking up the pieces one is interested in at the right time and at the price which seems to be the reasonable one? Re-releases are somehow in contrary to the origins of our collecting hobby, to be honest. But to each his own.

Actually I thought the hobby is all about "buying the models you like". Certainly a phrase that occurs frequently in collecting diecasts be it planes, cars etc

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with re-releases or additional releases. It can be hard for a manufacturer to predict demand and sometimes they under estimate as well as over estimate.

There there are collectors only recently started pursuing the hobby and never had the chance to buy the model first time round.

I was talking about the "collecting" part of the hobby, mate - not just 'buying' models.

Re-releases are lowering the value of a collection, different item numbers for one and the same model (type, airline, livery, reg.) don't make a countable difference.

Still, to each his own.

Default Re: Gemini is asking for 1:200 re-release suggestions

My wish for Gemini re-releases are some of the Boeing 727 models,-but especially the Eastern "Whisperjet" and
American bare metal Boeing 727-200s.

Damn right you are and it is in the long run for the best of our hobby as it increases the reach and the number of potential customers which subsequently let the community of hobbyists grow to such an extent that also smaller companies and smaller production run sizes of rather obscure subjects are suddenly a possibility.

By the way, if building up a worth preserving investment is your primary objective you should probably reconsider on how you spend your money. A hobby full of releases with production run sizes of up to 1000 samples is most certainly not providing a substantial and continuous value increase. Your money is better spent on 1930's Bugatti's or inner city appartment's in European metropoles.

I buy because I like the models. Not because of future investment gains. You don't take 'em with you in the end.....

Just a sidenote: I don't consider model collecting to be an 'investment', and I never said so.

I can honestly say,I have never purchased a single model with the intent of a future sale. I have approximately 1200 models. I know several are sought after, and go for big bucks when they surface. The Herpa Premium American A300 is one example.

What about re-releases without the errors that occurred on the corresponding original release?

Now that so many mentioned the L-1011, Inflight could do the PSA demonstrator which featured a wrong customer logo beneath the cheatline. And, of course, a polished belly is technically possible now, too. They tried to re-do a couple of L-1011 a few years ago with polished belly instead of the silver painted original... does anyone know how those re-releases actually sold (well? bad?)?
