Smile JCW JAL MD-11 J-Bird "Tufted Puffin"

Hello guys:

It's been a while since I last logged in and post something here on the forum. I have been pretty much disconnected from the forums, not much to see and discuss nowadays. Miss the old days here at DA.C.

Here I share one my latest arrivals, a very unnoticed model, strange thing JC never mentioned there were 2 version for this model. So, JAL fans, you should be looking for this one, the famous J-Bird.

Greetings!

Great looking model, I remember the J-Birds...personal favourite was the Okinawa Rail! Thanks for the pics. I might have to pick this up.

Lovely model. Your money well spent. I may need to get one of these. JAL use to run the odd Charter into YVR. I believe I worked on this very plane. (this was an extra flight.) JAL has been daily into YVR back as far as the DC-8 I believe.

I forgot to mention,I use to have a small book of JAL MD-11 stickers. Each sticker had the bird and reg number of I believe the MD-11 fleet. They were each about the size of a coaster. I gave them to a collector about 5 years ago. He was trying to find this sticker set as the MD-11 was his favorite plane. Funny thing,he lives in Long Beach. Not far from what was the plant. I'll be darned,I found a photo of the set.

Your photography of this model is just fantastic. Thank you for posting, as I wanted to when I first received mine a while back, but photos like this are the reason I don't.

JCW sure hit it out of the park with this and the Swissair releases! Keep up the good work JCW.

You did what? Oh man, those stickers would be a fine complement for this model now. Perhaps you should try to recover them or maybe tell me where I can find at least one of those.

Here some pictures from the sleeve and the "Rock Ptarmigan" version. Photos taken form eBay:

I was simply paying it forward. Collectors have done things for me. I liked the sticker set,but this collector REALLY wanted it. I got them at an Airliners International show. Watch eBay.
