Default Models Maintenance

Hi Guys,

I realised that my models are development black stains and paint bubble. Therefore, I will like to have some advice from senior collections on how they clean the models

I keep my collection in a rack with glass doors.
There is not much light or dust.

The snap-fit (plastic) models periodically (every 2 years) I clean with a dry cloth. The diecasts also, however, do not know what to do to avoid the plague of "zinc root" (so far has not happened).

Black stains and paint bubbles? Yikes! How many are you talking about? Do you have specific examples?

Are the black stains on top of paint, or polished portions of the models? If polished portions, it could be tarnish. No idea if they are on top of paint.

Can you post some pictures? That would give everyone a better idea of what you are dealing with.

Hello. My advice is : never display the models outside a closed cabinet. The dust and stains are very hard to clean after displaying for a long period of time.
If encountered with stains, the best way is cleaning with car care wax. For paint bubble, there is no solution except buying a new model.
Hope it helps.

"paint bubble" ? That's not good. That could be zinc rot or zinc pest. Finally your diecast model will break in pieces and there is no cure.

Some pictures could help to determine your problem.
