Default [Review] Chinese 1:200 Apron Mat

I know that some of you have been talking about the apron mat made by one Chinese manufacturer. And I just think, why shouldn't I buy a piece of mat and make a review on that? At the end, I bought two actually. One is a wooden base with a mat on it which can accomodate one aircraft model. The another one is a paper mat which is pretty much the same as the first one except that is wider and it can accomodate two models. Below are the photos.

So, this is it

Without the objects

There are also markings for different types of aircraft

It is actually difficult to take pictures of a vast mat with aircraft on it with many details. Overall, The mat is nice. The printing is clear. It would be even better if I have more ground equipment to complement the models.

In addition to this, I have also got a paper apron mat that can accomodate two aircraft which I will take some pictures of it later.

This is the paper apron mat, which can accommodate two aircraft models (as huge as two A380s actually).

So I put two A380s there

Again, there are markings at the end of the centrelines, showing where to stop for each of the different types of aircraft. The longer the aircraft, the further fore it will stop.

I also received the double A380 mat, but found the color to be too blue. Their website photos looked much nicer, hence why I was excited to receive them. Overall a good product, but was expecting better.

A comparison between the two mats:
1. It is easier and cheaper to ship the paper mat than the wooden base
2. However, seemingly the apron layout on the wooden base has a higher definition
3. The wooden base version is not over-blue.

Well, I have the same feeling. The photos look nicer than the real thing.

For how over-blue that is, just compare the paper mat and the wooden base version and you will get what I mean.

I thought that the aircraft model (A321 etc..) markings were supposed to be the other way around.. so that the ground crew can read them, not the pilot.

Overall these mats are looking very nice. Ive got the Herpa scenic appron plates but I mis the aircraft type markings wich these plates have.

From Taobao (a shopping website in China).
However, the shipping should be really expensive even it is sending to South Korea
