Not sure how many model shops there are in Los Angeles county, but there is one I go to every once in a while in Orange County just south of LA. Prestige Hobbies in Buena Park has quite a few snapfit plastic models as well as Gemini jets. They also carry model cars and boats as well.

Good luck with your search!

Prestige hobbies has a nice variety but they are badly overpriced and they don't really help me because I am looking to make a 1/200 tokyo narita airport if things go right

I'm no Chicago native but i do know this little store: www.graylandstation.com

They sell hard to find Gemini 200 & other Diecast models and they are also on eBay by the user name: grayland

Forget Paris …

As I already said, my nearest retailers are in Amsterdam or Berlin …

I was at O'Hare yesterday. I didn't see anything. Well diecast. Got to see a lot of great birds though during my 4 hour layover.

There are many terminals at Charles de Gaulle but as far as I know, no shops related to our hobby.

Another forum member pointed me to
BrookhurstHobbies.com: Index
and
Jaguar Models - Plastic Model Kits - Resin Model Kits - Military Model Kits - Photo Etch - AFV Club - Hobby Fan - Merit International

in the LA and OC area.
Brookhurst hobbies has a lot of different models and kits. I was only interested in HM diecasts and thought they're overpriced when comparing to online retailers.

There's also Evett's Model Shop in LA/SMO which I like because one of the guys there did some diecast repainting for me and they were very helpful

If your going to visit the Netherlands anyway than if your at Schiphol airport go to [email protected], it's a nice little aviation store with lot's of aviation collectibles & toys but Aviation Megastore is definitely one of the best Hobby stores in Holland & Western Europe. Good luck!

You do have something at MUC, but it's not in the terminal area but near the visitors pyramid and the small air museum at the Besucherpark. You'll probably need to go there by car, by taxi or by foot.

The adress is Nordallee 7, 85326 München. It's part of the airport area. You will also see a Lufthansa Super Constellation, a Swissair DC-3 and a LuftHansa Ju-52/3m, as well as an Bo.105 helicopter.

The shop sells most major brands in 1/200, 1/400 and 1/500 and they also have some rare stuff.

As I said, it's part of the airport. Just tell your taxi driver to drop by on your way from the airport to the city or from the city to the airport.

You don't need two days for the Allianz Arena and the BMW Museum. The last one is worth it, both the Museum and the BMW Welt on the other side of the street and you should plan 4-5 hours for it. The Allianz Arena is not very far from there and you can see it just before or after.

You can take the S-Bahn (regional train) from Terminal 1 (Area Z) to station "Besucherpark" for free. That's a 2 minute ride, OK, maybe 3 ;-) ..

There's also the Lufthansa Airport Bus from the main train station in downtown Munich to the airport (€10,50.- one way / €17.- return).

The S-Bahn takes 40 minutes.

The bus takes 45 minutes from the main train station and 25 minutes from Northern Munich (Schwabing).

Then buy your models on Ebay, internet shops and so on and you can spare all the travel stress.

I know it's a bit late, but this might be good info for any future travellers to Frankfurt.

If you take a look in any of the Relay or Virgin shops at the airport they carry a range of Lufthansa Limox models. I've picked up a few. Excellent quality. I can take pics if anyone is interested.

Limox is only the German importer, the models are made by Hogan.

In the Los Angeles area, Burbank's House of Hobbies is an excellent store.

Lot's of 1:200 and 1:72 (and 1:400 and 1:500 as well!), and super guys to work with. Glen runs a great shop.
