It's obvious that if one checks the post history of 3-4 individuals including you on this forum 99% of the posts will always criticise, and be negative especially towards two manufacturers. All the criticism takes the joy out of collecting.. ........ I've made this suggestion before to a few others, that if the small details and improvements don't meet your standards and it causes you to lose sleep at night then it's time to find an exit strategy and leave the hobby of collecting diecast aircraft models...you and those few others constantly criticising and negativity ruin this hobby for every one else..

Never lost any sleep over something as inconsequential (in the grand scheme of things) as what is posted on this forum. If critical posts bother you and a few others so much, maybe it should be you guys who need to plan an exit strategy, not me. For me, I'll be staying and continue to post as I like. If you don't like what I post, the simple answer is not to read it because I'm not going anywhere.

Yes I'll here the backlash that others welcome the critical reviews because it improves the models that they buy for their hard earned dollar, and that's fine.

That is the whole point of the forum. If you don't like a post, move on. No one is forcing you to read it. Some do find it helpful, and some even feel the same way. Differing opinions and new things to think about. THAT is the whole point I think. And I do get fairly frequent PMs asking my opinion on different models. Doesn't seem like everyone minds the analysis.

Why not go onto other aerospace forums and share your huge knowledge with fellow aerospace engineers???

Probably the same reason as me. Because I want to be on this forum, despite the CONSTANT criticism from just 4 or 5 people who think the forum is exclusively for their own pleasure or use to the exclusion of everyone else. Why don't you go elsewhere? Why don't you post in a "Friends and family of manufacturers' forum?' Probably the same reason as me. Because you enjoy it here, despite the occasional annoyances. But at least I don't try to censure anyone's opinions. And I do resent the attempt to make this a 'JCW/GJ appreciation' only forum.

Also, anyone who doesn't like what they are reading is always free to click to the next post or thread if they don't like what is posted.

Say all you want, show those here how much you know and I'd ask do the manufacturers listen??? Not really.. I know it may burst your bubble but I know first hand that all the criticism does, is draw them
away.

Not completely true. I think we are on V4 of the GE-90-115B. And the 777-300 mold now has added details on the tail. JCW hasn't quite gotten the 787 landing gear right yet, but at least is addressing comments on the forum. Do you think none of that is due to what is posted on this forum or elsewhere? How about the redesigned A320 nose? What about the redesigned 747 nose? If they are smart, the manufacturers will listen. AGAIN, I think the people who really are bothered by my posts are the SAME 5 or 6 members. I'll go with the other 26,000 members who don't seem to mind.
Pretty simple really.

I am delighted to see a manufacturer (JC Wings) take the next steps in the 1/200 diecast realm; starting with a T7 engine. This will definitely give a gentle nudge to the other manufacturers to take it to another level with their 1/200 diecast models. I definitely look forward with anticipation to seeing the finished product from JC Wings. Cheers! T7

Wink Re: New GE90-115 engine on B777

I like where JCW is going. This does add a certain level of depth to the model. The 'idea' of these panels IS interesting. It's the 'execution' that concerns me. That said, in reality, these engines aren't known for massive panel lines either (when all is closed up) so I hope JCW can find a way to reduce the massive panel gaps here, due to the open/close feature. (I realize this is only proto-land.)

If given the choice, though, I'd buy the model withOUT the sliding panels. I'm not into 'working features' to this degree.

Aside from that, the engine reworks to date keep looking more and more accurate with each revision. Kudos, JCW! I'm impressed.
