I think Aer Lingus will be a popular release. In my opinion GJ/JC missed an opportunity by not releasing an Aer Lingus A330 first. As far as the May 2017 release date is concerned, I'm still waiting to see the October 2016 Olympic A340.
I should be very excited about the release of a Caravelle and a Comet, in fact, I am not.
Can you guess why ?
The fact is that people are very demanding when it comes to the B 777 or B 787, but the errors, flaws, mistakes on the Comet and Caravelle are ignored, accepted and there is no sign of improvement.
Better models, collectors satisfied, more sales, more money for the manufacturers.
Less investment, refusing to listen those who could help with these aircraft which are now 60 years old and forgotten, invariably lead to models that could have been much better.
The Comet and the Caravelle were pioneers in commercial aviation, they deserve a better treatment.
Comet ordered. I've got three ARD200 Comets and love them all. As Jean Pierre infers they are not perfect but as I don't know a mould yet that is you have to weigh up the pros and cons on an individual basis. For me this mould is the most Comety Comet yet, miles better than the old (and substantially more expensive) DH Models mould that Sky Classics have been using.
If someone produces something better then all well and good. In the mean time I'm taking great delight in my 1:200 Comet collection.

I can understand your point of view, and in fact I share the same as you do. Unfortunately, seeing most of the comments here, I don't think it will change soon...

"Open your eyes, because the revolution won't be televised"
Still looking for following 1/400 models :
AIR FRANCE Concorde F-BVFC & F-BVFD
AIR FRANCE 747 delivery colors F-BPVH
I second that. There will be no change soon unless another company makes new and better molds. As much as I like the caravelle, this model does not represent the gracious lines of the real thing..Too bad. I had the pleasure to see a caravelle in person, part of a private collection. What a beauty...

spoke to PAUL on ARD stand at Gatwick and he said there will be ANOTHER BOAC COMET! this time PDC? world's first transatlantic service!!
forgot to ask him if it will come with a special plaque! doh!

Who made those Comet and Caravelle ? I know one manufacturer used the wrong wings on most of their models, e.g. 350/707/747/777 etc. for years without any change, do you think they don't know the errors? What's happening on the 777s? When people keep buying the models and posting the biased comments, why they have to invest?
I would guess there are 2 reasons that they sell a lot of models.
1. They make some aircraft that no one else makes, and with out competition and the models still selling very well, there is little motivation to improve the molds.
2. People still buy models like the 777 because they are more accurate and better models than the competition, and new molds like the 787 correct some of the problems with other manufacturer's molds, like low engines and long landing gears, that other companies refuse to correct.
If Inflight corrects the tall tail problem, they will also have the nicest A330/A340 mold on the market IMHO.
You know Robert, to me an accurate plastic model is always better than a die cast one with identified flaws and no sign of improvement.
Long time ago, I was so disappointed with an AF B 747-100 with the blue cheat line that I bought the very cheap Flight Miniatures version and put a set of landing gear on it.
Fortunately, the model was improved but it took time.
I have been fortunate to have flown on a number of Caravelles, namely those of Sterling (including one of their -12s, Transwede, and Transeuropa. Being a big fan of the Caravelle, I think I shall treat myself to one of the SAS models.
Neil.

That tail is unfortunate. What on Earth were they thinking of when they looked at it and decided to leave it that way. I had it pre-ordered but I'm afraid I'll be cancelling now and I was looking forward to it. A real shame.

Same for me. With the paint the appearance of the tail looks a bit better, but looking at the real thing it's significantly taller than it should be. Such a shame, was looking forward to adding it to my collection.

Don't worry, Tonka mentioned GJ is going to do it!

I'm not a fan of the Gemini mould, hence why I was looking forward to this ARD200 version.
The shop I ordered from sent my thoughts to Inflight, and letting them know I cancelled the order because of this. Hopefully that can have some effect on them revising the tail.
the Aer Lingus 330 does mot really appeal to me. straight rear cheatline and too small cockpit windows. i'll always wait for JCW/GJ to release 330/340s. the other solution would be HG or Skymarks join the Diecast business.

my hope is Aeroclassics when it comes to retro models. they brought up some excellent models so far, i would like them to bring more montly releases than the usual 3. for this month there only were 2 of the same airline. if AC200 would increase their monthly output to 6-8 models they will be a serious competitor to IF200.

Good point Jan. And this is not about having a go at the manufacturers it's about asking for some little improvements. I am also thinking of adding an A330 from this manufacturer. I can also see that the wing landing lights are in the wrong position on all the A330's Inflight/ARD/JFOX models.
They should look like this
and a little lower and not like this. Either way I don't think you see the wing landing lights on A330's on the upper side of the wings. Hoping they can print them on the underside of their current position

I guess I'm lucky to be an "old guy". Had the pleasure of flying on Air France, Alitalia, Swissair, and Finnair Caravelles. Beautiful plane and fun to watch the speed brakes on decent out of those triangular windows

How is the tail on this model? Tall? Any chance for a few pictures?
I have the regular livery on pre-order.
Thanks in advance.
