So who's pocket are you in exactly? This site shouldn't be censoring its members and deleting entire threads. If Gemini screwed up royally, that's their problem. DAC shouldn't bow to manufacturer pressure over an issue which will not cost the airline in question a single dollar. Let us discuss and post what we want to see and know!
The releases/artwork didn't seem to be "incorrect". The hints made that clear. You should have just posted a notice instead of erasing multiple topics entirely.

For the record, I asked for the post to come down.. I pm'ed several members including you to kindly retract their posts and all were gracious to remove their posts.. Everyone was polite and courteous.. The only one who didn't was you. If you have a problem with what the moderator did then contact me..There was a mistake made and we kindly asked for help.. Sorry it bothers you so much..you must have an agenda..

You didn't say who you were, worked for, or even why you wanted the pics removed. I don't just do whatever any random person asks me. In any case, I see no reason to make up for your (or Gemini, whoever's) mistake. Once it's on the web, it's public.
The collectors who provide the entire content of these forums, don't deserve to have such contributions deleted over a third-party's PR mistake. I want to be able to see and discuss what happens with the die-cast industry. Including mistakes. Next time, get it right from your end and don't tell me I'm being intransigent because I won't help you. And don't EVER insinuate that I have some inappropriate agenda when I stand up for the collectors, just to belittle my position.

Good grief! If someone asked kindly to retract what was posted, I don't see what the problem is here. Mistakes happen, it's that simple. If I made a mistake and asked people to help me fix it, I'd hope people would kindly help. Gemini is a great company and consistently provides releases for us every month. What other manufacturer does that? The least we can do as collectors is help if asked.

Like I stated, Gemini never asked me a thing. I got a PM from a user I never interacted with before that asked for a favor with no explanation whatsoever.

This forum isn't that important to care about who has control over it. I also doubt that anyone at Boeing or Airbus care what armchair expert has to say about how uncomfortable their ride was on their trip report since they have zero decision making authority.
You all seem to be missing the real point (or you simply have no good argument against it), which is that Gemini shouldn't have any control over the content of this forum. Can you imagine if Boeing or Airbus got to remove offending material from A.net?
Congratulations... now a second Oscar for best comedy...These posts are a joke...keep going maybe best musical next???

Mr. ZuluLima.. whatever the error was, or whomever made it, the fact is you were asked nicely, along with many other people, to assist with something. Except for you, everyone happily complied, but you went off on your drama schtik. Take a chill pill man!! If GJ and the airline in question got their signals crossed, cut them some slack. Things sometimes happen beyond anyone's control, and co-operation of others is needed.

There have been waves of various model airplane company employees having certain control over these forums. The new Hawaiian livery models they posted are all over Facebook model group pages which that they can't necessarily control. Model company mods here will come and go. Garuda something was an older mod from Gemini.
I could see if someone hacked and released the images of the updated Hawaiian livery, but GJ posted them on their own social media page. It wasn't supposed to be posted, but I believe the topic should be open for discussion. I'm more and more concerned about what is happening with our society.

Other then the brief time GarudaRod was asked to be a moderator and again it was a very short time, in all my years here I don't ever recall ANY model manufacturer or employee other then contributing, being a moderator or having influence on this site.. I asked the moderator for help as an error was made and he came through. For the slight few who want to make this a bigger deal then it really is, I suggest you donate the excessive time you have and do some charity work.
Is it about these models? Sorry, but they got "leaked" by Gemini themselves.
Maybe it is time to put some more energy and excessive time into fixing flaws on the models and thanking contributors here for pointing them out instead of getting angry about something self inflicted.
I'm out, please delete my account.

True. But there are sure a lot of "friends and family" here. And employees. And designers.
Time to be honest, the scales seem to tip pretty heavily in favor of the GJ/JCW folks here on the forum folks.

Actually, ALL the major manufacturers are members on this Forum. Several have employees posting regularly on various threads throughout ALL scales. That should be welcomed and not condemned by the collecting community. It allows DA.C to stay ahead of many other sites because these manufacturers see the benefit of posting here first.
Sometimes though, occasionally things go awry and moderators are asked to close threads down. These requests come from both collectors and the manufacturers. All are reviewed on their own individual merit. It's done case by case, and yes sometimes threads are closed. And... That's what has happened here. It's certainly not some big conspiracy and it's also not the manufacturers flexing their muscles over DA.C
It's simply a request by a member to close a thread due to an error. Shortly new info will be at hand and that information will be shared and commented upon by DA.C members who choose to do so.
Cheers Lou

I like the information, but not the disparaging of other brands. It seems to me that there is one brand in particular that is more guilty than most. If I'm right, everyone can guess who that is. It would be nice to have the information and preview pics, without any of the other nonsense. I just think people associated with a manufacturer should be honest with the other members by not pretending they are just another collector.
I have no problem with closing threads occasionally for any number of reasons. It is some of the personal belittling comments in post directed at other members that I don't like.

Actually, that is a bit tricky. There are multiple contenders there. It gets confusing at times. One has to remember who is who and what they represent to identify the bias and then make a decision.

The red part above is what should get alarm bells ringing in "moderator central".
It is troubling to see that go unchallenged.
Lou, might want to re-read all the comments on this thread and advise those responsible accordingly.
Oh, and the Barbara Streisand effect is in full force. Once the genie is out of the bottle, it is out. No amound of censoring would put it back in again. Don't ask United Airlines how to do "damage control".

I believe you're misreading that sentence, it's not "members I don't like" it probably should read "It is some of the personal belittling comments in posts that I don't like."

True too. Trouble is you don't know who is who until they're outed. Was taking heed to what other "serious" collectors' opinions, then found out who they were...or should say who they worked for.
Not only that, but their first 747s were terrible with the slick brow yet was trying to convince everyone it was perfect. Their 747 is much better now than before, but geez!
If anyone wants to take CROWNVICS advice above about how to use their time "Tuesdays Children" is a good charity to give to, as it helps children who lost a parent/s during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Great recommendation, I like St Jude's hospital for children myself...

Even if that is the case, one has to agree that it does not excuse the ad hominem attacks and name calling which happened earlier in this thread, which is something all of us should actually guard against on a forum.
The politicians in South Africa (and I have no reason to doubt that Politicians the world over are mostly cut from the same cloth) have made it an art-form in how they can distract people by taking conversations in different directions when something was pointed out which focuses on a particular 'colourful' issue. Don't be like them.

Crownvic, what was the actual mistake made? And why did you feel responsible to the extent that you requested the moderator to take down the original post?
I ask as today the original published release list (as published here and on Gemini facebook) is now in fact also published with retailers.
