Default Small AA Fleet

Here's my small AA fleet. At this point all I really desire is the G200 727.

757 arrived today from eBay. Model came in great shape but forward gear and one main gear shredded to bits upon touching them, almost as if they were severely fatigued. Unfortunately I had to use donor gears from AWE 757. The gears on my JC Aeromexico 757 are absolutely phenomenal, I wish they were the same. I wonder how I could come about spare parts - I could also use some tripod stands.

P.S., I am pro-tarnish.

Also, unrelated - but one of my other latest catches. My next hunt will be it's older but smaller sibling - G2DAL061.

Nice collection, I'm a big fan of the older AA livery. You need a DC-10 in your collection too!

Lovely AA collection. I am a devoted AA collector as well and those polished birds just look terribly sexy. I recommend a Fokker 100 but the 727-200 is also a great model to have. Congratulations. Keep collecting AA models. They are just addictive.

Very nice models.

One day, I'll have to reorganize the way my Air France fleet is displayed.
I have 80 models from 1933 to today (B 787), expecting a few more very soon (customs).

That will be a good opportunity to take a few pictures.

I love the prop liners, we don't see many on this forum.

Jean Pierre.

Congrats to your growing AA fleet. It's always great to see other AA polished collectors on the forum sharing their collection. As another DAC member mentioned that the 1:1 AA polished airframe is only in pristine condition after it is rolled out on Day 1 of it's service. After that initial rollout, the mirror like polish finish is gone.

I will check later today in my service hangar if I have any spare B757 gear for you. I do believe I have, but will double check.

Again, thank you for posting pics of your AA beauties. Cheers! T7

I love the original livery but am also very fond of the new American livery as well. Seems like every time I hop on an AA jet, I'm flying polished again. Someday I will get my hands on a polished 737. Great collection dude.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I'm not a fan of the chrome finish. No offense to anyone, but I would never even consider the Herpa Premium A300. I go as far as using some graphite on my landing gears to give it that dirty realistic look.

I don't see a new livery model in my future either. DC-10 would make a great addition but some of those prices! And that would also mean some new shelving.

In the last couple of days I've been tempted to purchase a blank series model to experiment, perhaps strip it and polish/tarnish it.. maybe a USAir 762 or something along those lines.

Very nice collection. I like the polished models as well and not too bothered by any tarnishing. It was made aware to me early on and I decided to collect them regardless.

Thank you for the update. I appreciated your offer for payment on the landing gear & shipping, but I declined and wanted to help out a fellow AA collector and replied 'On the house from T7'.

Glad you liked the shipping container I used. That container really came in handy when I had later purchased a dresser from IKEA and forgot that landing gear container was underneath the boxes! (I almost used a padded/bubble wrap envelope that morning for the landing gear, good thing I didn't because those tiny plastic bubbles would be no match for those IKEA boxes) Cheers! T7 (all the best with adding to your AA fleet)

Nice display! I would not trust that tripod stand that the 757 is sitting on! Funny how many collectors asked me if my AA polished planes were tarnished when I was selling all of them! They didn't want them if they had started to tarnish! I guess some collectors think it looks more realistic when they tarnish! For me, it would depend on the pattern of tarnish as to it looking realistic. Anyway thanks for posting your pictures and happy collecting.
