Default Inflight 200 Versus JC Wings 777-300/ER Rollout

Hi all,

I am looking to get this model for my House colour collection. I've noticed both Inflight and JC have released the model. I am interested to hear about people's preferences. The only thing pushing my towards the Inflight example is the stand.

Thanks ... Ben

Some people prefer the mould of one company versus the other, but the differences between them aren't significant to me. I personally replaced my IF version with the JCW version because the JCW version has New Zealand on the map whilst the IF version does not. The registration numbers and nose number are also different between the two.

There is even a third version of this particular aircraft existing in 1:200.
It is by Eagle/Phoenix and is also die-cast. As far as I know it also shows the map correctly.
Personally I have the JCW version though.

I prefer the Inflight mold because of the cockpit window printing na d nose shape, along with the engine mold (although the engines are a mild preference at this pint), BUT for this particular livery, the JCW model is probably the better choice is you are looking for an accurate livery.

To be honest, I'm passing on both models because I don't like the way Inflight has the livery painted, and I'm not crazy about the JCW/GJ nose and cockpit window printing and nose shape.

I have the Gemini 773ER in KLM in the new livery. Is that the same mold as JCW?

Yes, Gemini and JCW share the same 777-300ER mold. I have one of the G200 Emirates 773s and really like it.

Awesome thanks! I have the JCW KLM 773 Orange Pride coming this week. I like the 773 I have so this will be icing on the cake so to speak.

As an aside, the Gemini Lufthansa Cargo 777-FBT is a beautiful model if you like the 200 fuselage.

I've had the Gemini 200 AA 772 (polished, old colors) for a while and was also impressed by it too. Great plane, great model.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the feedback, much appreciated. I think I'll go for the JC Wings example! I am hoping we'll see a 757-200 in house colours in the near future.

Cheers ... Ben

Actually, there are four. Let's not forget the Hogan model, which is pretty nice, too, even if it doesn't have the usual add-ons that diecast does.

Actually I think there are 5 1/200 scale 777-300ER models currently being produced.. Phoenix/Eagle, JCW/GJ, Inflight, Hogan and Skymarks

This is the my Inflight version. As a general rule, I prefer JCW to InFlight almost all the time on competing molds, but I'm very happy with this one. The only way I would have gotten the JC version is if it came with a flaps down option.

Hope this helps.

edit: oops I'm too late!

Great photos @neilc777 ! The IF 77W certainly isn't bad looking, but the landing gear needs to be on par with JCW. The nose on this copy seems not too be too pointy either. Other than that, the fan blades always strike me as being better than JCW.

Thanks Jan! I agree on the landing gear, it's not nearly as detailed as JCWs new stuff, but honestly the difference isn't that noticeable. If I had known JCW was going to do this I would have waited, but I'm pretty happy with this one.

If I am correct, the IF model has a real APU exhaust port, but the Gemini model is only a decal?

Correct. And actual raised sat and WiFi domes.

Seems to me the 'ideal' model would be the Inflight mold with the new JCW main landing gear and IF nose gear with JCW wheels and rims.

Sorry for going off topic but speaking about the Inflight 200 777-300ER mould, i was blown away by my latest purchase, which was the IF 200 TAAG 777-300ER, it was a beautiful mould & livery combined making it a almost superb model IMO...

Does the IF have removable gear, and/or do the main gear pivot?

The Inflight model has both removable removable gear and rotating main landing gear.

And I've seen the TAAG model and it is very nice.
