the DC-8s are nice, but isn't the Quebecair the 720 which was released previously? the GSE is a nice idea too...

This Boeing is one of the two B 707-123Bs used by Quebecair, the first owner was American Airlines.

The small ventral fin is correct and is the same as a B 720 but it is not a B 720

Quebecair B 707-123B …
Looks like it's C-GQBH, MSN 17650.

The other one was C-GQBG, MSN 17647.

Are those the right engines for a -51? I didn't know any of the -50 series got the same engine aerodynamic treatment that the DC-8-62 received. DC-8 experts?

Thanks. I also checked pictures in adamjets and they show the correct models. Now the only question is which one do I get?

They need to show up on a European retailers website first
I can't justify getting both, I already have two Eastern DC-8s and those new releases just look the same besides the engines.

We still need a Swissair Aeroclassics DC-8, hopefully with GSE as well.
If they'd do two different versions in the same Swissair livery I'd get both.

thought one might be longer too as different series. but maybe not.

Yes the pics are wrong but if you check the pics on adamjets you'll see that the only difference between a -21 and -51 visible are different engines. Fuselage length is the same for both series.

Some pictures of the GSE. They don't look too bad for being included with the model. Especially compared to Gemini's effort.
Western Airlines B707-139 with Ground Set (GSE) (1:200) - Western Models Western Airlines B707-139 with Ground Set (GSE) (1:200) #WEWAL0217 at diecastairplane.com

Btw still no sign of the models at any European retailer.

You are right, all the B707s and B 720s look the same but there are many variants and it is very easy to get lost.

The B 720 is 8 feet 4inches shorter than the B 707-120 long body, four frames were removed ahead of the wing and one aft of the wing.
It is not immediately obvious.
The B 707-120 B has the same ventral fin as the B 720 B and identical to the B 720 …
…but the B 707-120 received a big ventral fin … which was changed for a small one when becoming a B 707-120 B …

B 707-120 Bs and B 720s /720 Bs had exactly the same wings, so it is very difficult to differentiate the two types.

A few words about the Western "B 707-139" released last year.
According to the engines, it is a B 707-120, but with this tall fin, it should have a big ventral fin, not a small one.
Also, I am curious to see a picture showing the model from above, unless I am wrong, there is a good chance that its wing is the wing of a B 707-120 B.

These two wings cannot be confused.

If I am right, please AC 200, do not do that again.
A B 707-120 needs a new wing, without the glove, different from the one you have on your excellent B 720, B 720 B and B 707-120B.

Jean Pierre.
