Default My Collection blog

Hey everyone!

If you have time please check out my blogs about my collection! In addition to actually collecting the airplanes, I like to photograph them, too, and I keep track of them on the this blog.

I started a few years ago just taking pictures of them on a shelf, and as time went by, I started putting together dioramas to make it a little more realistic. You can see the evolution from my first blog (scroll to the bottom) to my current blog. I keep these links in my signature, if you like to check back in once in a while to see what I've added. Eventually, I would love to build a gate scene to use, but I'm not feeling quite ambitious enough at the moment!

Here the original link:My Entire Collection- Blog 1- the First 165 - Model Airplane Collectors

And here's the one I'm currently adding to:
My Entire Collection - Blog 2 - Model Airplane Collectors

Very very nice things there man

But as this one goes:

Aviation 200 Delta Air Lines 747-100 "Widget"

Isn't that a Boeing 747-200 due to the upperdeck's window layout even I know KLM has a B747-200 with the B747-100 upperdeck 3 windowed setup, just never knew there were B747-100's with a B747-200 upperdeck layout SP's also have the 10 windowed layout.

Just wondering though, I could be wrong too

But damn man! :eek! how and where do you store all of these planes? I mean Scale 1:200 isn't that small either, they would take up a lot of space right?

Unless you have a separate building for your collection or a large room for them?
Just curious how some collectors do that that have large collections like yours

I remember it well. Thanks for the link. When I started collecting years ago it was one of the first sites that got me hooked!

Well done.

Nice work on the blog, enjoyed the pictures. Thinking about doing the same thing.

747-100s had the choice of upper deck windows in the beginning, 3 vs a whole row like the -200s have. I think even towards the end of the -100 run, the full row was standard equip. That's why TWAs and Pan Am's had the three windows, because they had a lot of the early orders. As opposed to United who had a couple early three window versions but also the later full row -100s.

And as far as where I keep them all- I have a room in the basement, which is close to needing expansion! Lol
