I am curious as to the desireability of a Wardair 747 in 1/200.

If they could manage the GE powered version,I would be the first to order. Pratt's are OK,but I prefer GE. What a class airline.

I would buy it but I would prefer an A300 or A310.

The one and only time I flew on a 747 was with Wardair in 1980. AWESOME flight

I would prefer the earlier delivery scheme so the final photo's scene below can be recreated. Or better yet, both schemes.

Dan

Delivery Scheme 747-100

Later Scheme 747-200

From Max Ward's book.

I'm with you ALL 100%, been waiting patiently , it will come. I hope first in the delivery scheme, but it would be crazy not to do both at the same time. It would save on set-up cost to the box artwork and the only difference scheme difference would be the titles. -100 in delivery scheme with PW engines and -200 in later scheme with GE engines.

I flew on Wardair in 1987 to Toronto in the 'Big Seat' option on the upper deck, loved every minute, it made me want to fly. Four years later I was IFD on the 747 for another airline, not a patch on Wardair I have to say.

Wow what a smashing scheme, never seen these in the flesh, but I was aware they used to fly to Gatwick in the 70s as my folks flew with them for a trip to Canada in '77! I'd be happy with either scheme tho I particularly like the delivery scheme fonts.

I was a "Wardair brat" growing up as my father was a Nav with the airline.

Back when I was thirteen I had the chance to occupy the Flight Deck on one of their 747s from take off in Vancouver to being towed into the Wardair Hangar at Edmonton International.

That flight had a lot to do with my pursuit of an airline career.

Inflight has made Wardair's 727, both 707s and the DC-10 - the 747s should be the best sellers of them all.

It's somewhat meaningless. I mean are there many models that every collector would purchase?

BIG YES for one of these epic classics All the later aged liveries seem rather lifeless, as where the Retro liveries make aircraft come to life in a sense

What happened Wardair down anyways?

I don't collect aircraft from that part of the world so its a no from me.....

But hey if you were from canada eh im sure it would be a different story.

Im sure the same would go for a ANZ 767 Retro or a Air Pacific Retro 747 in the north.

For all you people that voted yes, you will be happy to hear that JC Wings will be producing a 747-200 this coming April according to a Toronto retailer. No mention it will be polished.....let's hope so!

Good news!

I hope it will be Wardair's first 747-100 "Phil Garratt "when delivered in 1973.

Will go well with Inflight200's B727 and B707 to recreate the scene below.

Dan

From Max Ward's book.

I placed my order today with "Flight City". The information they have shows it being a GE powered B747.

O.K. - that means the later scheme 747-200. Hopefully the delivery scheme will be done later.

Shame, I was also hoping for the delivery scheme, just looks a little better IMO, with the classic font on the tail. I'd also really like to see a release with highly polished JT9Ds such as in the photo of the bird in flight...really looks awesome.

Hi Dan. A B&W computer drawing on Don's order sheet showed the later livery with the GE engines. If it sells well (of course it will) the delivery colors are very likely to be done. You were the first person I thought of when this was announced.

Good to know - thanks for the input all!

I don't know if the email[s] to JC had any influence but it is more effective than the "Please make" threads on forums that the manu's may never see. If you want a model, do the lifting, send them the thread link, pictures etc.

Regardless of why, I am getting a release I want.
