Default Air India...Question

First of all, I cant believe I am even doing this. I am mister anti technical b.s. supporter of all the techno crap here, but I do have a techno question. I must be feeling ill but,,,,,,

In comparing the Air India current color scheme 747-400 and 777 both made by Inflight and JC Wings, both have pure white fuselages. Yet the Hogan 744 and 777 both have the flaky metallic light tan colored fuselages..There is a huge difference in colors between Inflight/JC and Hogan.

Can one of our DACrometer followers enlighten me please???

...perhaps poor quality control, possible the paint was white but negatively reacted to the poor quality metal, or my favorite...the Chinese opened the doors on the factories to get fresh air and the smog mixed with the paint...

if you re-read the question I'm saying the paint is pure white on the metal..its the plastic models by Hogan that are off white.

I dont believe the Hogan is wrong. Im just wondering if Air India changed out their paint from the tan metallic to white later on?

Russ, if you look where the reg is you can see the contrast between white and the color you describe above.

I agree, i think Hogan exagerrated on the tan color. all of my 400 scale and 200 scale air india 777's have white fuselages. Even if the fuselage is off white in real life, the tan color of hogan is way too much.

Off topic but similarly if you notice the new Jet airways 773 buy inflight 200, they totally messed uo by painting the belly gray when it should be light sky blue !

Without having access to the official colour charts for the Air India paint scheme. Looing at all the photos on Airliners.net and my Geminijets 1:400 777-300ER and Phoenix 1:400 777-300Er and LR models I believe its supposed to be white.

Herpa/Hogan did this with the Boeing House Colours as well, went abit over the top with the shade of white and metal paint chips in the paint. I would go with the JC Wings.

By the way Russ have you got a photo of the JC Wings 1:200 747-400 Air India? I think if they make a correct representation of that plane, should be a nice model.

Is it just my model or are all the JC wings 747-400 models like that? On my model the left side seams are more visible than the right. its become an eyesore.

I think it is pearl white. You can see the difference with their 787s as the engines are white. Same with some aircraft that have new nosecones. The new 320NEO sure looks white though.
Thanks for info on Jet not blue bottom. Saving money not getting that mistake...

The actual aircraft colour is "ivory", from Air India's website.
The Air India Brand
Definitely off-white.
