New year, my new project : cargolux B747-800 with nose-door open - I just finished it and I needed 4 nights to finish it (all my free time in the last days ). This experiment wasn't easy, because you need pair of fine stable hands, otherwise it will be very easy scratches. I made them movable, that means, the cargo doors: front and side, they are movable so I can open, close like the house door. I hope you'll like it!
Some photos of this model with set up are comming in the next days.
Now to fix the wing flex so it more closely resembles a ground configuration. Beautiful job and great pictures!
Have heard some modelers paint the inside black or some dark color if interior lights are installed. Offered as a tip, not criticism.

It's about time hogan to make something like this, as hogan already made 1/400 747 with open doors, why not bigger easier 1/200!?!? Nice work!

This has always been the biggest gripe for me when it comes to plastic models. Can anyone confirm if this is the Hogan version? If so, can anyone also confirm that the Herpa version does NOT have the wing flex? I've been really considering getting the Herpa version since it has the antennas and the appearance of no wing flex.
Other than that....GREAT job on the cargo doors!! Looks awesome

Very cool execution there Vandan - fascinating to see what's inside those Hogan 748s. I had always assumed they were solid plastic. I wouldn't have the courage to do this to my Cargolux 748F. At least not before JC has released a diecast metal version of this standard livery. :-)
BTW on the subject of the wingflex, has anyone actually successfully managed to straighten the wings on one of these Hogan 748s?
Wow! How did you put the little hinges on to make them movable? That is really well done, and the lights add to the nice work you have done too.

MANY THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND NICE WORDS. I am very happy and glad to share with you my work. You have already motivated me to make a new project
I used this method to make the door open/close, i drilled 4 small holes and I plugged 2 small wires in the holes, I bend the wire and I bend it straight after. Now they're stuck. A other method: you can glue the thin alu flat in the inside of the door and the fuselage, that you can bend

Thanks for you tip, I will also paint the inside black.

Yes, the nose gear is JCW gear and I also added 4 Antennas and a satellite.

I also wonder, Why don't JCW / GJ make it?, for me it is not too hard to make the door open/close!

This is a Hogan model, I believe, the Herpa version doesn't have the wing flex

Hi Terence, no risk, no fun
Yes, it doesn't look nice, this is an inflight model. It bothers me totally and I've tried to bend, it was of no use.
Again, I really think Hogan should make something like this...
Shouldn't be too terribly hard as Hogan already has done something like this in 1/400.
If HG ever comes out with open door version models, they would be super hot seller.
