Default Capital Connie from Smallworld

Here is my recent acquisition from Martin Beacom at Smallworld. I know it's a 649/749 vs. the Capital Connie actually being an 049, but I don't care. The model is exceptional with detail and realism. Look at the rear passenger door which is open and includes a passenger disembarking. Look at the windows and
shades he added. This is an example of what realism can be in 1/200, but it's not cheap. I believe most people are not routinely willing to spend over $200 for their diecast. I certainly am not, but for one of a kind collectibles it's a no-brainer to me.

That's a nice model and as with Small World, well worth having. A complete model with all those extra little touches and uniqueness that you get with a hand built model.

That's a beautiful model of an iconic aeroplane.

I don't want to highjack your thread, I just would like to attach pictures of two beautiful models made by Martin.

The prototype of the Super Constellation.
The real aircraft was made using the C 69, prototype of the Constellation.
Adding new engines and with a stretched fuselage, it became the Super Constellation.
But it retained the round windows, the pilot's windshield (9 windows) and the small vertical tail surfaces of the original Constellation.
You have all this in this model.

Also a beautiful DC 4 operated by Air France for its night mail services.
A fantastic level of details never found on any model at this scale.

Thank you Martin.

You're definitely not hijacking my thread. It's great seeing his work on other aircraft. I've got another beauty on order - a Capital DC-4 with doors open. That will bring my total of Martin's models in my collection to 5.
